About an hour or just under depending were the person lives it wouldn be for me but if people live out Dundrum Monkstown Blackrock area its an option about 40 mins or so drive.
I had enhanced checks and still got my start date.
My contract states:
Your appointment to this position is subject to Security Clearance.
So it is still going on in the background but it won't delay your appointment.

They will , you just have to start clearance before the 30th of June .
I was supposed to start on May 25th but I am on leave so will start on June 2nd.

Not more than 15 I'd say
I’ve been told 12 before they get to me and I’m in the 20s~ so at least 12
You will be called in the next week or so. I emailed one day and there were 12 people before me and next day I was called for clearance. If there was an expression of interest that will take more people off the panel.

Do you mind me asking, people who are starting now generally, where approx on the initial OOM had you placed? I'm trying to get a flavour for the upcoming competition.
I was 1400 after the tests and then went to 200 something after the application forms were read. Your application can make a huge difference so get that right from the start.
Same early 800s from the test, 360s after application review, looks like at least 300 or so in each batch eg batch 1 then 1.1 1.2 1.3 etc. My batch was 4 and ended up in 4.6 so took the 2 years since applying but the wait was worth it now see where i end up 🙈

I was 1180 something and then 300 something after shortlisting. Application is a major factor. Any clue on how long placement is after HR refs are sorted?
I was told what department I was going to the next day but not the section. I had to wait until they had agreed my release date from my current department before I heard.
Will that be HEO 2024 wrapped up now?
is there not a 4.7? Afaik last interviews were March right?

Anyone that got called into clearance heard anything yet ? I no a few in other batches that heard the next day as to what dep they would be
Unless the extension goes ahead. The lack of a new competition suggests that could happen.
