Prima Facie sold out in about four minutes. I know it was the Gaiety but I was surprised with no queue or waiting room.
Ouch, some brilliant songs but that price is not helping either, starting to see a lot of blue dot fever spreading into ireland in the last few months
a lot of the fairview and trinity shows are far from selling out.
I was wondering if there was a Kings of Leon tribute band that focused on the first two albums, being the better albums by far and noting the reluctance of the real band to play stuff from that era.
Lo and behold....
Typical - I won't be able to go as I'll be at Forest Fest 🤦
€32.50, on sale Friday

New album, Half-told Tales, out 4th Sept
This band is the reason I own earplugs, and Whelan's is not a big venue, this'll be loud.
Their Days Get Dark tour gig there was awesome, hopefully it'll be up with that. I felt their Philophobia gig in the Button Factory fell a little flat, hopefully this is one you'll need earplugs for!
New single yesterday, sounds suitably big...
Gurriers announced for Vicar St, October 29th and Olympia, November 1st. What's going on there?!!!!

Also, Getdown Services, Vicar St, Wednesday 2nd December; https://singularartists.ie/show/getdown-services-2026/
Arab Strap? You must be thinking of someone else.
I thought it was a Belle and Sebastian tribute band 😳
Ambitious IMO but best of luck to them
Sold out two nights at Button Factory in December.
Edit. Referring to Gurriers. Might be ambitious for Getdown
No, definitely them, saw them in Edinburgh for lost evenings, they walked on to a wall of distortion and feedback that assaulted my ears and never let up. Sound completely different to on record.
anyone got a getdown services presale link/code?
It'll be sent tomorrow I'd say
Went to The Boo Radleys on Saturday in Dolans and stumbled across The Cosmic Dead in a side room. Not many at them but they were amazing. I caught the last 2 songs, one the rocked out for at least 15 minutes. I haven't seen that energy and beautiful noise in a loooooooong time.
Chatted to them afterwards- Scottish and Italian, nice bunch of guys. 10 albums and heading to mainland Europe touring.
One more video of them
Big jump from 1,000 to just over 3,000, still there on the rise and certainly alot better than some of the dregs filling arenas and fields in this country
Yeah, been at a few shows and they've been quite loud. Not Swans loud but, at my age, ear protection needed.
That Whelan's show was deadly. I'll defo be signing up again for this one.
Button Factory show was just the two lads, as I recall, with no other live band members, and it's very much an album you need to be in the mood for and I probably wasn't. That gig did just pass me by at times.
Whelans gigs either side were excellent.
Girls of Summer could do a number on your ears.
Exactly. To be fair, they'd advertised it like that but it just wasn't as good as a full show
Gurriers are exceptional live. Was at the Button Factory shows and they were a weekend highlight at ATN last year too. Absolutely dominated that Lovely Days stage
President playing in Manchester Vic Warehouse at the end of the year. Wonder if they’ll be back here, Olympia maybe
I really enjoyed the Academy gig. Delighted I got to see them in such a small venue. Hopefully an album soon too.
Album is called Blood of Your Empire and prob being announced today with the new song. Its up for pre order on iMusic, out in September
Is this Good Charlotte ?? Co-Op arena in Manchester posted this
Co-Op Manchester also posted this for The Script, announcement is tomorrow at 8am
Jesus.. I'm still baffled at the popularity of The Script.
Wonder is that for 2027
Think Slam Dunk have exclusive UK rights for them in 2026
Id say it will either be announced tomorrow or Monday as i believe slam dunk is this weekend?
