Exact temperature as west cork tomorrow, except there is a lot of cold rain on our forecast.
It's hard to compare new Zealand and Ireland for farming and growing grass
I was down in clon 2 weeks ago at a wedding. You had biblical rain there on the Sunday. We’ve had v little rain in Wexford /carlow the last month. Could do with 30-40 mm here over a couple of days to set us up for the summer
And an extra 5 degrees of heat
that to! Set the last of the maize today. 16 days after the rest of it, it won’t be that far behind it. Weather has been far from growthy
Can Anyone explain where they got the word Kinisla for the new co-op in the south West.
would you stop.. tis the stupidest most retarded 'name' iv ever heard in my life.. how are we supposed to pronounce it? maybe the lads hosting the MDPO meeting in Tralee tomorrow night might help us..
A bit like tirlan, money spent marketing the new name could have been spent elsewhere
Kin stands for the farmers and workers and isla stands for Ireland, it’s self explanatory really 😄
Kin is la
Wasn’t the word ‘Kerry’ itself a brand for the co-op?
Changing it means starting from scratch with a new word which has to spelt phonetically for people to pronounce.
Kinsella. Them wicklow folk taking over cork.
What did it cost to paint all the lorries its not if there is tirlan brand of milk or mayve there is
The plc own the Kerry brand. I reckon that the coop had to change away from it exactly like Tirlán had to do.
Yes that's correct.. Kerry dairy ireland had 5years to come up with a new name for the business.. hard to believe this new 'name' is the best they can come up with..
should have called it "kerland coop " maybe as a hint of its origin
I wish them well. hopefully they will show some ambition on milk price
Pronounced Kin isle a
Couldnt use kerry in the new brand name...it was part of the deal
A big celebration today at the christening with much fanfar and 5000 baloons filled with hot air!
The leadership dont sound like the sharpest tools in the box with all this cock and bull.
I was at the ceremony today and it was the very best Kerry meeting I was ever at tbh. It was a great day out. As for the new name Kinisla, it is pronounced:
Kin-eye-la… the S is totally silent… “Kin” meaning family and “isla” as in island
Personally I do like the name. The presentation today blew me away entirely. It was excellent. I can put my hand on my heart after today and say I think this new business is seriously going to go places.
Was there any financial info today. The CoOp are a year behind with their accounts
Wouldn't inspire confidence.
i was watching the piece about it on the TV3 news earlier and i was thinking that it was yourself sitting down taking it all in..
thought they did reveal financial results… @ftm2023 might know more
2024 accounts at the agm a few weeks ago a year late. Nothing since the buyout.
I never saw it 😂😂 ya they definitely mentioned about the financial results and it was all good news. It all went over my head tbh though
i cant understand why the 6 went to dairygold? no dairygold suppliers can understand their logic. we know the excuses given but kinisla have fairly good management compared to dairygold
The more things change, the more they stay the same. You'd nearly want to watch this twice just to be sure that it hits home.
Those decisions are made out of angry and a hatred of the coop usually from some personal gripe those six farmers have. Its definitely not a logical business decision. Every coop have suppliers like that. A few years ago milk suppliers around nenagh went to glanbia and similar numbers left glanbia and went to arrabawn. How does that make any sense
The new entity in Kerry look from the outside to be in as good a place as any coop in the country
Any of ye going to the NZ dairy tech day in Laois ?
Quick question what size rubber pipe do we buy to fit dairymaster clusters
I’d be very friendly with one of the 6 so I wouldn’t want to say anything insulting about them but it’s just totally daft stuff on their behalf in my honest opinion. No logic at all.
One of them is a former Kerry Co-op director who I most certainly would not have been friendly with. I won’t go into what I was told about how he left the board when he did. In my own personal opinion, he is no major loss to our co-op.
Sure 1 of the 6 is trying to come back already apparently. Sometimes people can get ideas into their head that make no sense I guess
On a separate note — cows going in here tonight. Place is all waterlogged. Have a house on daft for €2,000 here in Co Kerry. Got a phone call a hour ago from a company offering me €4,100/month for it. Mind boggling stuff
Anyone that gave blue tongue vaccine having repeats issues this year. Only difference to other years I can think of, never saw as many repeats from first week, mostly conventional too.
