I can see why the ref penalised it for as per the very letter of the law it met the criteria for a croc roll. Equally if the ref didn't or it was left at just a yellow I can see why the ref would also have made those calls.

Seems to be overlooked that Barron admitted it was foul play, the disciplinary panel agreed, but that it was not serious enough to merit upgrade to a (20-minute) red.
Whether it's serious enough for a red is very subjective, Ithought myself it was yellow but as you say it could have landed anywhere on the spectrum.
I don't think it's overlooked at all. There's obviously a massive spectrum between admitting foul play and it becoming a 20-minute red card.

Most acts of foul play result in just a penalty, some warrant a yellow card and only a very small number justify a bunker review or a red card. In this case, most would recognise it as nothing more than a penalty. The officials need to improve, in an effort to be seen to be right they get it badly wrong, especially when the clock is stopped for an on-field check and then again for a bunker review.

My reading of it is that v Lions
1. We win and champions cup done.
2. We lose with no bonus pts, out.
3. We lose with at least one bonus pt, we leap frog Ulster and finish 8th based on total wins and qualify. But champions cup could still be taken away by ulster winning the challenge cup.
Was a lot worse til 4 minutes to go in the Ulster game...
I think Lions could well win but they are leaky so you'd expect a bonus point at least

No, if Ulster finish outside the top 8, and win the Challenge Cup, then the team in 8th are still in the playoffs, they miss out on the Heineken Cup.

With the absolute **** show going on in Munster at the moment, along with a Munster Hurling Championship match on as well, it’s no surprise this hasn’t sold well.
The late kick off certainly takes from the crowd as well,
Not to mention the soccer, communions, confirmations and every other excuse that didn't exist back when matches like these were sellouts
Munster fans these days want to throw every excuse in the book to not have to attend a game.
The real reason being is that the quality in rugby has dropped and people want to see a winning team
Cost of living is a huge factor. Wouldn't be overly critical of people making those choices.
TThere's some truth in that but its an overstatement too as we've always had a drop off in attendances once the Munster championship started, more so, once the GAA & rugby started to clash with kick off times
Tonight you have Tipp v Clare, tomorrow Limerick v Waterford. Easier & cheaper to stay at home to watch more games than pay, travel and only see the one game.
Limerick hurling would be seen by many as being a very successful team, there were still match tickets available yesterday for their game.

Generally, i find that most of the people commenting on the lack of fans attending games are those that won't be in attendance
