Ridiculous stuff.
You'd think there were no real crimes in the UK to be investigated
You've said you'd never once heard him talk about abortion. Not once.
He spent years campaigning about it.
You're welcome
Fair enough but that was 8 years ago. I think my point still stands.
How on earth does your point still stand? What even IS your point?
Wow! Eight years ago, was Instagram even round then?
why would he need to campaign about it now when it's been legalized, that battle has been won, you don't see anti-apartheid activists anymore either.
So it's fine he hasn't anything to say about the other issues I raised.
That's one of the causes of him burning so many professional and personal relationships. It hurt him more in the long run but it's his own fault. The decline of his career is entirely his own fault.
Very bold isn’t he?
Obviously nobody even slightly implied that. Why can't posting in good faith be a thing? Just because people don't mention things that there's an overwhelming consensus are bad, doesn't mean they're ok with them.
I see Graham has claimed he is working on a new comedy with Rob Schneider and Andrew Doyle. We will perhaps see him back in the news not related to politics.
The words Rob Schneider and comedy don't belong in the same sentence.
@ancapailldorcha likes to lecture us ordinary mortals using historical examples from centuries past to make his points, but if someone responds to his demand for evidence with a link he doesn't like, it gets dismissed as not being recent enough. Go figure...
Funny how you didn't have a problem with comments like this:
My point stands. Linehan does nothing whatsoever to actually support women. Some people just like to pretend he does because of his demented hatred for trans people.
Do you have any specific examples of this alleged demented hatred for trans people?
He set up a dating profile for a site designed for queer women that is trans friendly. He then proceeded to screenshot profiles of transgender women and post them on his sub stack… That's pretty nasty and hateful behavior tbh. Think you could classify it as demented too. I'm sure there'll be some strange justifying and downplaying of it by posters though.

Someone on boards referred to JK Rowling as a writer of children's books
What am I missing here? Why is that wrong?
Obviously it's a factually correct statement, but omitting any mention of the fact that she's by a long stretch the most successful ever children's author, who brought the joy of reading to a generation of kids and often their parents too, and this in an era where the Internet was exponentially attracting kids' attention, indicates a huge degree of begrudgery on the part of the writer.
BTW she was also called a bigot, with no evidence.
Good to see Graham hasn't lost his sense of humour posting a photo of himself as 'Graham 29 furry/adult baby'.
So men passing themselves off as 'transgender lesbians' isn't funny?
So, a man pretended to be something he wasn't, to poke fun at men pretending to be something they aren't - I can see why some would find that offensive, but I don't think it's demented or hateful.
Ah so personalised harassment directed at individual transgender women's dating profiles is fine... Think this is saying plenty about you guys tbh.
So a factually correct statement upset you?
but omitting any mention of the fact that she's by a long stretch the most successful ever children's author
Is that factually correct?
I imagine Enid Blyton and a couple of others may be up there too.
You say it's fine, I didn't.
It didn't upset me.
Yes, Enid Blyton gave much joy to kids of generations past, myself included. I've never seen anyone downplay her achievements.
Doesn't really matter IMO, depends how you measure 'success'.
I've read a few of Blyton's books (not recently) but never read any of Rowling's, so I'm more old school. BTW it's worth noting Blyton was no stranger either to 'culture wars', her work was increasingly seen as dated and racist in the second half of the 20th C.
The horror. And I thought Kid Rock making a comeback with the US Conservatives was bad enough.
In fairness you made every effort to downplay it and I would very much so classify it as hateful and rather demented to boot.
Harry Potter has total sales for the series of over 600 million. You could add in the movies too. Enid Blyton doesn't come up in any Google list.
There's nothing fair about misrepresenting my post - I think it was a reasonable description of what Linehan did did. I don't think it was particularly funny, but it wasn't even close to demented or hateful. You obviously disagree and I'm fine with that, I won't question your character or throw slurs at you just because you hold different opinions.
It was kind of you though to chip in on behalf of @ancapailldorcha who for some reason seems unable to support their own assertions when faced with even the meekest challenge.
……. Never knew what Blyton looked like. Looks a bit like Margaret Hamilton.
Enid Blyton doesn't come up in any Google list.
She does.
But I can see why you left it out. Completely invalidates your musings.
