New thread for the League of Ireland.
Previous one is currently behind itself but may return another day. Old thread:
In fairness, Galway didn't create a whole lot of chances either. Apart from the two goals all I can think of is the close range header that Anang saved, though it was straight at him. Disappointing to let a two goal lead slip, I thought we'd see it out when the second went in. Galway put us under pressure after that, but as I say, without creating too much. Thought we'd got the job done, but then came the sucker punch. Two good strikes from Bolger it must be said. Oh well. On to Sligo on Monday.
100%, we had the two goals, Anangs excellent save and a header that looked to be going in first half but I think our own player ended up blocking it.
I think the ref thought the player who caught the ball heard a whistle for offside and that was the reason he caught the ball?

It’s not just the reffing standards of LoI that are bad.l, Rte can’t even get the facts right. Dundalk were blessed not to be done to 10 men afted 20 but you’d think they were robbed from Rte piece.
They totally misquoted Joey O Brien. He didn’t think Boyd was lucky not to be sent off, he was reffering to Animasauhsun elbowing Boyd in the head in the ground , the linesman saying it to the ref and the ref not even booking the Dundalk player.
Jon Daly gone from Waterford
Think it’s first division next for him. 3 Premier Divsion jobs and 3 sackings.
Shame, hoped he might hang on for another few games at least.
Poor manager but the squad is desperate. Dont think there is much saving them in current form
You need to take off the rose tinted glasses. Boyd elbowed Animasahun in the face in the first half too. The referee was terrible as were the entire Shels bench who kept running onto the pitch and abusing the linesman. Plus Shels delaying tactics were way over the top. Having said that Shels were the better team and deserved their win. I was disappointed that Dundalk played into their hands with the high ball into the forward line where the much taller defence had an easy team. Poor tactics from Kilduff too.
A rule of thumb I use is to just ignore people who cry about referees week after week. We're almost two rounds into the season and I don't think we've suffered a single poor refereeing display. It's always a thing that certain types of fans go to first.
Yet the crazy thing is that they could easily have left Tallaght with at least a point and Daly would still be in a job today.
And you need stronger glasses. It was an elbow into Boyd’s head as he lay on the ground. It wouldn’t have been out of place in the UFC
Neither would Boyd's in the first half.
Do you have a video of this one? The video of Anisamahun’s one is floating around the internet quite a bit, but I haven’t seen the one you’re talking about.
I have to stop posting during matches when I’m at the games 🫣
But I felt it was a solid performance, one of our better ones. Interesting to see if we can build on that at dalymount.
No but I was right beside it and saw it clearly as did everyone around me.
The game was televised. If Boyd elbowed the lad in the face, that’s certainly a notable enough incident that you’ll be able to show a clip of it.
Well I don't have a clip f it but i saw it as did others.
There’ll be a clip if it happened
RTE or whoever showed it might have it. And it did happen. The referee didn't appear to see it but there were loud boos at the time.
If it’s happened, someone has considered it relevant enough to post a clip of it. In the same way, that I can provide you a video of Animasahun’s elbow that he got away with within seconds.
The Boyd one happened in the first half. The incident you're talking about happend in the second.
Until you provide evidence, only one of them happened.
I don't need to provide evidence of what i saw. If you don't believe it that that ok but it happened.
I spend alot of money going to home and away games. Dont think it’s asking alot for half decent reffing.
Ignore me all you want but if you’ve something to say to me or about me, address me directly or keep it to yourself.
Thought Rovers could have nicked it at the end. Yeah pitch shocking and our play sometimes resembled watching Kinger's teams up there!
Interesting experience being there.
2-2 fair result , good game aswell. 4 points from two away a good weekend , now can shels win their first home game against Sligo….
Draw central. Except, of course, Rovers...
Fair result in Derry. We defended well and Derry created nothing second half until the equaliser. We gave up the initiative and went negative way too soon though. I'd have taken a point beforehand but these injury time concessions are costing us massively.
Mutual consent on the way for Barry Robson soon (allegedly )
