Hoping a New Thread may fix the posting issues.
I wouldn’t agree with that. They had a goal stand that shouldn’t, a stone wall red card against Fernandez not given and had our shot taken off the line go in I reckon we win by a few they were absolutely shell shocked. Unlikely to lose I would say rather than flattered all things considered.
It wasn’t great by either them but we were far from flattered to lose 3-2.
We have gone from a team within 6 or 7 world class players starting...to just one now..some drop in status as a club...
I loved the way our two goals came about, the manner we chased down and pressed utd into making errors reminded me of the Liverpool of old.
If we can get another midfielder with the energy of Domo but to play the deeper role we won't be too far away next season.
Not all the new guys will probably be a success but we've seen in the past that foreign signings need a season to adjust.
Always will support LFC through good managers and bad. I’d support Slot leaving if we won today, there is no direction on the field. VVD pressing high up the pitch after a set piece, simple ball over the top and we are under the kosh (the one Kerkez saved the situation).
Jones is lost in the current setup too and arguably not trying.
Nothing to report, more of the same lifeless dross as before. Team is done, the lads going to USA have clocked out and have no faith in in the coaching team
Hopefully, Arne's peaceful easy feeling in recent weeks in is a sign of a mutual consent break up agreement, and not him settling in,because we'll still be in thai death spiral next October if he stays on
Milner on a free in summer , yea please. Just his attitude around the place would be beneficial
It's hard not to be depressed about the whole situation. We have so many lads either not good enough, their best is behind them, or are on the way out.
I have reservations about about the fitness of Bradley long term, and whoever thought Frimpong was good enough to play as an outright fullback for Liverpool needs thier head examined.
Konate best over the long run is always when playing beside a quality experienced partner, that partner is leaving in just over 12 months and only 2 chaps behind him so far. Robbo going, Kerkez does look decent TBF but can't get a start lately under Slot.
Midfield is a mess. McAllister looks cooked, Grav is a No.8 at best, not a 6. Wirtz looks so lost i don't see any way back for him. Jones apparently on the way out and serious contract negotiations required with Dom on the horizon.
Salah going, Gakpo to be fair always tries to put in a shift and is a good squad player. Rio a year or 2 away from us seeing his best on a regular basis. Ekitike out for the foreseeable and the Isak transfer looks worse and worse as the weeks go on.
A Kloop 2.0 type would struggle to turn this mess around.....christ I'm off to get a drink.
They were gifts and poor defending
This is a highly pessimistic view of things, I don’t think things are nearly this bad. Do people not remember what actual bad was like with actual bad players when we were no where near even getting into the champs league?
We had half a team missing today with injury alone never mind all the other things that have gone against the team this season and yet we are still in 4th.
i think 4th is decent this season with the way the season went
Where fairly generous alright but the way we pressed was encouraging and it's something we don't do enough of.
I prefer a team to defend starting with the attackers.
We are not there yet. We can still be caught.
This is brutal
It's one thing having bad players and being bad, it's another thing to have good players and being this bad and passive. We haven't the greatest ever squad, but we should vw playing better than we have over the last year, and we're getting worse by the week.
I would'nt write off any of our players until they get gametime under a coach that is able to bring the best out of them.
Slot can't motivate them to work harder so everything gets halfarsed, and that shows in our play.
If Slot turns this around next season i'd be shocked.
Villa losing is a bonus
Even during the Hodgson months I don't recall any legend like Aldo calling things out to this level.
Definitely get 4th or 5th
Paul Joyce also critical in The Times.
Chelsea, Villa and Brentford left to play and all of those are in the hunt and can catch us. It's tight but given our form, even before today, I am not confident at all.
Avoid defeat in those 3 fixtures and CL will be secured.
The same could be said of Firminio when he first arrived,Rodgers didn't know how to get the best out of him. I would say the same about Wirtz and Slot.
I don’t know if I agree with that. By all accounts Slot was a big part of Wirtz signing in the first place. He was impressed with how Slot wanted to use him. It obviously hasn’t gone to plan with the injuries etc .
I’m not sure how you could play him as a 10 in in today’s squad. It’s a threadbare setup at the moment.
Chelsea beat us with a last minute goal this season already. That game I think we should win because they are actually worse than us.
Villa we comfortably beat in November but they are a different animal now.
Brentford stuffed us despite the 3-2 scoreline. That one I think we will loose. They are a very physical team and we can't handle that at all.
The unknown is Villa for me.
Despite his many exclusives, I wouldn't call Paul Joyce a Liverpool Legend 😏
Yeah tbh I don't know how Slot convinced him to come to liverpool, because he doesn't know how to set us up to get the best out of him and our midfield is not good enough to get quick ball forward to him that actually breaks the lines.
And either did i😉,just pointing out a journalist criticising the current situation, considering so many on here think the media are toeing the line and won't criticise the setup.
Wirtz is like an u15 playing against leinster senior league players
I just dont see anything in him at all
And he will be brilliant at the WC
But not in the Premier league.
Disaster of a signing
7 goals and 10 assists isn’t the worst but people were expecting more I guess. I think if he had a more consistent front line then it would be better.
I certainly wouldn't be writing him off after one season playing in such a dysfunctional setup
