Anyone else notice them telling referee a fair bit what color they’re taking on? I understand it when colors are quite close together, but seen quite few examples where it was very obvious what ball was being played.
I did . I was thinking it wasn’t just to remove doubt. I think there is a bit of a psychology to it, name the colour “I’m going to pot it” type of thing.

Commentary was right, Marcel should have been more proactive there.
It had been over 50 minutes without a pot.
10-15 shots each with no discernable advancement should be enough really. Madness to allow 50 mins.
Turned into a very interesting frame once that was resolved though.
I was thoroughly entertained until maybe 5 minutes before the black went in, I'd be interested to know how many shots were actually taken in the frame. The previous record was 85 minutes, but 82 of those minutes could well have been Selby slowly walking around the table pondering his next shot
The Selby bingtao frame was quite different. It was awkward because all the colours ended up down the baulk end or something like that. But it was continuous play rather than a stalemate. In fairness, both Selby and bingtao were happy to dig their heels in.
Such a shame bingtao did what he did. He was a quality player and could have been in the mix at the crucible.
Bingtao probably would have won the WC in 2024, if he kept his head down he had a lucrative career ahead of him instead of throwing it all away for a quick buck.
I know John’s staying ahead, but I think Shaun is stronger
If he could hold his concentration for a match winning break more often perhaps.

Gas part is Murphy seems to get annoyed when pros point it out. Hendry was even more direct on his channel asking Murphy if he thought he underachieved. Jayus he bristled at the question.
It's a shame as he has almost everything in the locker.

My theory on Murphy not winning more and missing easy shots is that his mind is “too busy”” for his own good.

Great 101 from Higgins, the last few years he's always faded away around this time, seems like he's playing near his best tonight.
Have thought that in the run of finals Higgins lost before. But he just ended up looking shattered tired in them.
