Prima Facie sold out in about four minutes. I know it was the Gaiety but I was surprised with no queue or waiting room.
tomora for stadium on October bank holiday
Jon hopkins for NcH
Just got a Tomora ticket too 🙂
Enjoy, should be good to see them in there, never been to the button factory myself
Nice venue, I really like it. Good size, well laid out etc. Always been decent sound when I've been
Amazed that a seasoned gig goer like yourself has never been. It's a great venue, lovely size, great sound, nice little bar at the back, great location. Has it all.
I wasn't there, but for those curious as to what was played…
Yeah I'm surprised myself, looking forward to it now I must say, even though I attend a lot of the bigger events I very much prefer the smaller intimate venues so im looking forward to Friday night, bonus as well that I'm not having to fork out a small fortune for the ticket for a change 😅
Seen chemical brothers a good few times so it'll be good to see the duo in that small of a room
they need to sort their act out though with merch stand location, utter shambles last saturday
it being in the side bar is grand. Keeps the queue away from the concert area.
Ah exactly Duffy! In an ideal world, you'll come out of that gig having had a blast, chatted to Tom at the merch stand, blown away by the intimacy and realness of the experience, 50 extra quid in your pocket and vow never to attend a stadium gig again. You'll spread this message to friends and family, the momentum will build and build, ultimately bringing down the evil music cartels and liberating small artists and genuine music fans everywhere. Big night ahead. No pressure.😉
That bit is grand but it quickly overwhelms the bar and you get the queue forming from two directions at once, not ideal.
Yeah, can be lovely if you're there at the right time but a disaster if there's a big crowd. Robert Forster did his up at the sound desk and it was grand. I would have thought a 10 minute clear out of the room, then set up in front of the stage would be best but I guess they want to prepare the place for the next day or whatever,
The olmpyia is the worst. You basically need a standing ticket to access it.
You can access it after the gig, even if you have a circle/upper circle ticket.
Not all the time. Sometimes the doormen are seriously reluctant to let you back in. Got into an argument at least twice over the years. Probably depends on who it is (at the door).
Given button factory is a late night club on Fridays and Saturday they need to clear the room asap hence merch being next door is perfect.
Yeah, fair enough. I mean it certainly isn't perfect but hard to see what else they can do.
Kacey Musgraves has announced US Tour, hopefully European (incl. Irish date(s)) to follow.
fingers crossed! She did two shows at the Olympia in 2024, both were sold out if I remember correctly.
Anyone know stage time for Big Thief in three tonight. Probably 9?
Anyone have an idea of stage times for Big Thief tonight? Cheers
Yep was at the Sunday night gig and thought she was really good
I've been able to get in after and before the odd time. But I've also been told no. In fairness to the doormen its a tight enough space. Bit awkward either way.
Yeah, fair enough.
I guess it depends on how busy it is.
The ticket scanning for Ground Floor is after the merch, so in theory it shouldn't be a big issue, even before the gig. From my experience, few people will be merchandise before the gig, queue is long after.
I've heard it is half 8 some mights and 9 on others so I would aim to be in for half 8 to be safe personally
Prewn, the Grand Social, Wednesday 26th August.
Nice one! Will aim for 8.30 to be safe so, cheers
She's playing arena's again over there, which makes me wonder if she'd settle for the olympia again. She'd be perfect for an outdoor summer show here.
Perfect for Musgrave Park maybe?
