Just a very nice house on the Sutton/Howth coast.
Actual location https://www.google.com/maps/place/53%C2%B023%2722.3%22N%2B6%C2%B006%2737.1%22W/%4053.3737332%2C-6.0985849%2C190m/data%3D%213m1%211e3%214m4%213m3%218m2%213d53.3895166%214d-6.1103064?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI2MDQxNS4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D
I just relooked at the pics again after wondering about the mound. The damn column in the kitchen island. Even if the house was in immaculate condition and I was getting it for free that would really annoy me. How that got through the design phase with the owners of the house boggles me.
Nice house but that is very small for 1.2m
10k per sq meter! that's punchy
So unappealing, in every way, to me. And the bits of furniture 😳. No, no, no!
Has that been empty for ~15 years? Why are they selling now? Does the ruined speedboat come with the house? Is the mound an ancient Maya ritual site?
I have so many questions
Probably kids (at least i hope its kids) pissing all over the seat lol. Lovely house though
That mound is baffling me too. If I was minted, I'd have one at the back of my mansion
to use as a driving range for when I get bored of running peasants off my estate.
Red van beside Garage door, which is open a bit, in picture 18. If the bank has it for the past 10 or 15 years, why was that in the photo? Also, why not have had the speedboat stored in the double garage, it might not look as mouldy, mossy and run down as the rest of the house now? So many questions.
That mound looks like it would send rainwater towards the house below it.
The state of it too.
Love the Sutton house but not 1.2m love it.
Probably in a long repossession process. Owner sporadically paying to keep the bank off their backs. There can be title disputes and separations that delay things too. I like the pool though. Everything else looks cheap, even for 15/20 years ago.
Also the house was yellow in 2011 in Streetview, so it’s had a lick of paint at some point
If you spend half a million on it it may be ok. Pillar in kitchen island looks structural but may be able to re-design layout of kitchen, new kitchen etc. I reackon you could spend €500,000 on new kitchen, floor finishes, curtains, landscaping , painting, furniture, possibly heating system, alarm etc. easily enough. Could be nice then. Was half thinking about phoning auctioneers to see what price they are looking for out of curiosity, although I would have no intention of buying it.
I hate it when auctioneers do not put price on it.
me too, they either have no idea what it’s worth or are chancing their arm as it’s lakeside. just noticed it’s 1.38 acres. You’ll be liable for 7% stamp duty on the .38 acres, for that reason, I’m out 😂
What's the land valuation of a 0.38 acre mound nowadays?
Wish someone would ring the auctioneer and find out. If we knew how much the 1.38 acres were it would be a start. I'm on holidays far away overseas, otherwise I might phone the auctioneer and find out.

Is the mound what they dug out for the pool?? 😜 I think 'lawned gardens to the front' is a stretch even for an auctioneer…
On property.ie the auctioneer says is was built in the late 90s.

On myhome.ie the same auctioneer says it was built in 2003.

On easyoffer.ie estimated market value is 1.24 million.
Maybe there is somthing valuable buried in the mound? Under the lawned garden?
Planning granted for house 1998, Retention for dormer windows 2003, refused planning for jetty 2008.

Cottage? Do the llamas come with it?
Nice, fantastic views. But bath's in the bedroom? No thanks
20 minutes from the airport? i guess it might come with a helipad.
also nitpicky - it's listed at 340sqm, and 3,390sq ft. does the estate agent think that 1sqm=10sq ft? i know that's very pedantic but you'd think something as basic as that would be second nature to them.
I was thinking the same!!! Never seen a bath in a bedroom before.
I'd never get bored wandering around the outside and looking out the windows in the evening.
Stunning house. Must be great money in being a sculpter.
Rancid bar the views.
I would guess there would be few things as luxurious or relaxing as soaking in warm water, and having that view. The ventilation system should get rid of excess steam.
When I win the lotto.
i once stayed in a quirky B&B in weymouth which had a full clear shower cubicle in the bedroom.
I don't get the big deal with a bath in a bedroom?
Wouldn't bother me anyway.
Lovery location and views, but I hate the house. Its bleak and unwelcoming. Doesn't look cosy or comfy at all
Naming it Heather cottage is misleading. That is not a cottage
Stayed in a "hotel" in Gelsenkirchen for the Champions league final that had the same.
what are the bets it sits on the site of the long demolished heather cottage?
There's a few places up around that part of Howth that I've always wondered how the hell did they get planning permission? Away from all development and in the middle of the gorse. Must be based on old ruins where the piss has been taken to the extreme
