New discussion for 2026 campaign
Very similar position. Bawling my eyes out atm
Im Offaly too! You should appeal! Thats a crazy jump, you would have gotten an interview soon with your original OOM.
Nephew went from late 200s to mid 100s up over 100 places in Limerick CO after the correction
I was preparing for an interview! How did you get on? I really can't believe this. Appeal incoming!
I have moved up 5 places to just outside the top 10!
I'm up around 200 places, sympathy for those who went down
I went from the early 100's to very low 20's Wexford
Just looked. I went from number 55 in Clare to number 15 now. I am over the moon, been wanting to join the Civil Service for years but always came up short.
I've got 2600s for Dublin. Is there any chance I'll be called for an interview?
I moved down 100 places for Dublin still inside the top 150 hoping I won’t have to re do the interview
……………..
A family member improved from 2000's to 900's in Dublin,
Over 1000 places!
@kamu me too i was 2220 in dublin now im 884!
i went from # 4 to #8 in wicklow…. is there any way to figure out how many openings in a county and where?
Dropped even lower from an already low position. I've already emailed them to express my displeasure (in a polite way of course). I would suggest that anyone on the thread who has dropped in the OOM should email them in the address given to express your disappointment - there must be thousands of candidates across the country who for weeks were left thinking they had a much higher OOM.
Who knows, they might have to do something for all those impacted by the mistake - too many people have came out of this competition negatively and with a poor experience.
I know it's easy for me to say as someone whose OOM has been improved but the people appealing their drops are wasting their time. At the end of the day, someone else should have had your number and it wouldn't be fair for an admin error to screw them over.
Also Dublin, I have exactly the same scenario score of 240 as you but jumped from 51 to 775, how is that. @Worried2019 - how is it possible for you to drop from 1400 to 500 if our scenario score is exactly the same and I went from 51 to 775, you’re now below me? Congrats and all but that can’t be right, I should’ve been below you.
I jumped from OOM 106 to 47 for Meath, any idea if they’ve started interviews for Meath yet?
Your new scenario score 240? Thats the qualifying score needed..
I think they just said the qualifying score is 240 for scenarios now, not that they got 240. You also have to take the skills score into account for OOM.
Even if I had jumped up a big amount in the OOM and then they announced they were re-running the situational (or something similar), I would be totally relaxed about it - I would still see the unfairness of the whole thing for those who dropped. People were left thinking for weeks they had a certain OOM and then had it pulled from them.
I don't know why we are pretending like any of this system is fair. There are 6 questions that are largely subjective with subjective responses. It's totally unfit for purpose for requirement at clerical officer level. The whole thing is a joke. The very basic level of assessments like the EO should apply
Its also not fair on people that PAS began interviews and passed applicants who are now going through clearance or so they thought. Imagine youve gone from 50 to 500 after todays news, of course you'd appeal. I agree with your last sentence but I feel for those people, horrible position to now be in.
went from 30s in to 283 acc ridiculous
Got my email and thankfully it went in my favour. Jumped a huge amount for my county, i don't think id have had a chance with the original oom but this should be ok.
Have also just been offered a TCO role to start now so that will hopefully fill the gap.
improved by nearly 400 places in the OOM for Dublin
I couldnt agree more. I was clerical officer with HSE years ago and there were online basic assessment like the EO one. The responses in this competition are very subjective. I scored OOM 2200 and have just moved to 884 in Dublin. I did move buckets so im guessing that had something to do with my huge change. I hope the phones will be hopping next week.
Having looked at the candidate booklet again I really don't think there's a point in appealing/asking for a review.
But I would encourage anyone who has been as put out by this as I have to lodge a complaint. It won't change the result but it's the least we can do.
Went from 79 to 137 in Waterford.
Their a joke simply put.
I went from 400 to 60. Think I've somehow done very well out of this whole cock up. 😂
