It is made by BYD aka Build Your Dreams. Hope it comes here and that they change the name before it does,
This could really challenge the Tesla Model 3.
It looks great inside and out
That's not how the service plans work with any of the manufacturers. They alone decide if something is needed, and if not, you don't get it. Rather than think of them as 'freebies', think more as 'peace of mind'.
It's all a bit of an upsell scam to be honest.
I was just looking at the manual for this car and seen you have to break it in. I had to do the same on my current ICE car five years ago but never knew it was the same for electric cars. Don't drive fast or slow for long periods. I'm nearly thinking of taking it up and down a motorway some Saturday and Sunday just to get the 2000kms done so I can drive it how I like. 120kms/h on a motorway is hardly speeding is it? Maybe 110kms/h but I may look like a eejit doing that.
We didn't do any of this nor were we told to.
This is from the manual
🤷♂️ Never did this. Just drove it as normal that's 2 years ago now.
Learning something new every day! Maybe that copy pasted English instructions from their hybrid cars?
No it's for the seal.
I just googled it and it seems it's not needed. That was from the Seal manual but maybe they used that section from the ICE or hybrid cars and decided to leave it in or just forgot to take that part out of the Seal manual.
Who knows.
Never heard of having to break-in an EV before?🤔
Lost in translation from Chinese or AI generated stuff :)
You’re overthinking it.
I realised alright. I was just reading through the manual.
I know. And if you didn’t read the manual we’d be posting to RTFM 😂😂
In this instance I think you’re good. Anything goes wrong, let the Chinese worry about it with the warranty.
Drove a couple of workmates from China earlier, one of them owns a Tesla back in China, and they were seriously impressed with the car and its quality. That pretty much says everything.
They are so cheap in China you’d be hard pressed not to be impressed. Overhere, not so much with the near €15k price difference!
Its about 23k over there…🙈 and the new brown interior IMO is really nice, but not the new area on the right side of the screen, I don't know what's that about.
Self drive is available as well in China. I wish we got that. It would make a motorway journey very relaxing.
Tesla will force it through and open the floodgates for all manufacturers.
Lovely interior. Big fan of the colour
Rather not, the current seal isn't capable of delivering that safely. Unless it has lidar which seems the newer models are implementing.
There's enough distracted driving out on our roads without adding loolaas with dangerous camera based driving functionality added to the mix.
New facelift will make the current one look old. It should have been here by now.
This might explain why it’s so much cheaper in China.
The new facelift we are about to get looks virtually identical to the one we have apart from the wheels and has bigger boot. 2 new colours in UK, we dont even seem to be getting those, a bit underwhelming!
Just collected Seal from 2nd service on Naas Rd. Brilliant staff has to be said. They also confirmed my car (Jan '24) is now on a 2yr-30k plan and they wrote this on the service docket.
That's weird, I was just told there on Monday after my first service that just the cars from 252 are on the 2 year plan.
maybe after second service the rule applies. Either way I have it in writing.
Same in BYD Galway after 2nd service in February on my 241I was told 2 year plan only applies to 252 cars
Following what you said above I was passing by the dealers today, called in and without any inspection, the free tyres, pads and wipers along with a full service will be done as part of my 2 year deal.
On the contrary, facelift externals are pretty much identical to gen 1 bar the fugly LIDAR unit. Interior looks class in the brown but honestly, I think the current model’s interior looks far from aged.
Agreed.
Love brown leather though always been a big fan.
About to pull the trigger on a 252 car from a non BYD dealer.
Is there anywhere I could confirm what the service interval should be on the car and what the actual warranty is.
Also do all Seals come with a free tyre replacement automatically?
