Dealz are great for the shampoos and toothpastes, or gardening things. I do miss Argos in the city though.

Anywhoooo Born, the clothing shop have gone into liquidation and are closing all their stores (3 here). Closing down sale starts tomorrow
I was in Normal in Dublin recently. It has the same products as Dealz, but with the style of Flying Tiger. It’s a nice addition to the City Centre, and it has great prices
Trespass closing as well as Born in Douglas, friend works in Trespass and was told by the manager they can't compete with Decathalon
I went in there last Thursday to check their closing down sale. Same prices as usual from what I could see.
One big annoyance with them (and Regatta and Mountain Warehouse) is their constant habit of posting a supposed price and a real price. Decathlon doesn't bother with any of that malarkey.
Regarding Normal - I was in their Copenhagen store last year and their prices were quite reasonable even by Danish standards.

Staff are starting in the revamped Electric next Tuesday, not sure of the actual opening date.
Interestingly there's no food being served at all !
Bar downstairs and upstairs, each floor has its own stage. Loos downstairs have been moved from the back with a new window opening up the view to the river.

Technically theres a road between all of them and the river, bar cactus jacks but that has a boardwalk

This was announced in December but have not seen any works in the building as yet. Maybe plans changed.
Tbh, for me, empty is better than a Gala. There are two Costcutters, a Spar, a Centra, a Dealz and now a Normal next to it, plus loads more similar a short walk away. Another restaurant would be much better I think
Planning was granted late Feb 26' so maybe its just taken a bit of time
