He's always impressed me, gets through a lot of work and has some aggression. Definitely gettable.
I think his contract situation is telling, you can't go into next season with him on the last year. Whether he has a good or bad start, every question will be what's happening with your contract?
My hope for a while has been he gets CL qualification, the club shakes hands in the summer and he leaves with his head held high. He has a great managerial future ahead, its just there has been too much change this season and he's proven he can't build a team. What he achieved last season was amazing and I have no doubt he could walk into another ready made top team and be successful.
If he is going to be kept next season, they have to give him a new contract or he's a lame duck.
There was a few rumours of the team having 2 days off after the PSG game last Tuesday and he went away then too.
And look, he is a father and so he has to see his family & children and I get that. He has to fit in those visits every chance he gets.
But lots of people are angry at him for the team not being fit enough, no integration of youth & fringe players etc. He is going off on holidays every international break when that time could be used to improve fitness and integrating other players into first team training. There are strong rumours of the regular first team trainings being broken up into shorter sessions with long breaks in between, sometimes even only 20 minutes at a time, and not many intense sessions. So they could have a morning session for 30 mins, then break for 30 mins for coffee, then back outside for some more work on the grass and back inside for gym and so on. The grass sessions are meant to be very stop-start also.
So when the team is performing badly and the fitness is not good etc, all these details such as Slot going on a holiday is going to be used as a stick to beat him with.
Krecji from Wolves could be worth considering but I think he's only there on loan …

Summerville seems to be a decent enough player?
If you spent your first 6 months at a new club making over lapping and under lapping runs and just constantly being ignored by your left winger i.e. Gakpo, you might start making less runs too. Or it could even be an instruction from Slot. I'm personally not gonna judge any of the new signings too badly till they play for us under a manager who knows how to use them correctly.

I'm not sure Gakpo's presence makes a huge difference on Kerkez's technical ability but the wider point about is fair.

For me Kerkez is the least worrysome of the new signings, Ekitike aside but he is obviously out for a year now. I haven't noticed his lack of technical ability if I'm honest and I think he is a decent defender. What I see when I watch Kerkez is a young man who is so eager to impress and probably was a bit nervous for months and this over eagerness has led to him being a bit rash at times.
But I think with time he will mature into a very good left back for us and in the mean time we have a very promising young left back whose fitness record is good, touch wood, and has bundles of energy and enthusiasm which is something we are sorely lacking right now and he is quick. We know the potential is there, you don't get into the premier league team of the year at 21 without having something about you. Nah, I have no worries about Kerkez personally and am glad we got him. Robbo was still in the championship with Hull I believe when he was Kerkez' age.

One thing the club needs to move on from is the mad transfer gaps we make. One year nothing or limited, next year a flurry. It should be a consistent roll of 2-4 players every calender year that are potential first team players with the odd squad filler/kid with potential.
The lack of CB signings bar VVD and Konate over a long period, the 4 CMs one summer, last summer, it looks like poor planning.

Zero issue with Slot heading off to see his family every chance he gets if I'm honest, probably helps keep him grounded, and makes him a happier manager. In fact who even knows what's going on in his personal life. I'm sure it was agreed upon when he signed also. This is just the modern world of football, and with people coming from all over the world it's happening more and more. Mourinho famously lived in a hotel penthouse in London. I think sometime people forget about the human element to all this.

Based on everything we've seen so far this season, I think it's unlikely next season will be successful with Slot.
But I'd love to be proved wrong and sticking with him proves to be the correct decision.

Or he is just reading Twitter and repeating that same one story that is being re-hashed over and over every week. Sky Sports are even running to today. The same one briefing that everyone else cottoned onto and is repeating it sound like they know whats going on.
