Looking at the venues they're playing in the UK it definitely feels like controlled hysteria, I'll be surprised if half the tickets for this actually make it into paying customers hands.

well what venue would you expect? Opium has more capacity than button factory. Only venues bigger are vicar st and national stadium. No where to go for them after those options.

the first four are all smaller capacity and the academy/olympia are mcd/live nation venues so can’t be booked by singular artists. Agents/promoters can’t just throw an act into vicar/stadium on 1st Irish tour. There is no other venues for them to play after that.

Interesting scenario in Kilkenny. Public Image Limited announced yesterday for a summer gig with Therapy? and Kerbdog supporting. I thought it was a bit odd that Therapy? would play this seeing as their public political positions are the polar opposite of John Lydon's. Now, less than 24 hours later Therapy? have announced they are no longer playing. No reason given but lots of speculation that it's political.
opium is not that bad. I find academy worse on the sound/view angle frequently.
Disagree - much prefer The Academy to Opium. Opium is a long narrow shithole with borderline inaccessible jax's.

Capacity breakdowns, sound audits, toilet accessibility reports, the Boardsgeois really spring into action when there’s nothing to actually attend yet.
I’m just glad they’re coming, would’ve happily taken a flight over if needed. I’ll see them wherever they play.
Reads very similar to the whole Hayley Williams situation again. Venue didn’t quite meet the Boardsgeois criteria so naturally it became a problem.
Meanwhile it’ll sell out, people will go, enjoy it, and the rest will be here explaining why it was held in the wrong room.
