H coal warehouse does charge for delivery. Depending on your location. For example, Delivery to Dublin Ireland is £37.50 for a full pallet.

Transport costs going up and pet coke is a biproduct of the oil industry so I'm undecided if I should buy now for next year?
The only reason I don't want to is I'm working this summer on the barn I store it in and don't want to have to move it around.

At my wifes insistence I've ordered another tonne of ECO Stove Smokeless Coal.
Few years since I brought coal from the north, used to get Columbian and polish for the open fire.
Just being buying the odd few bags the last couple of years, been mainly using the oil heating.
The local bags I've been buying are called homefire Supertherm smokeless.
Would anyone know if there is anything similar to that from the northern suppliers
I was in similar position about 6 months ago and did a trial of Supertherm (Irish) and Eco-Glow (Northern Irish). Here is the review I posted.
Ended up getting a tonne of Eco-Glow. Purchased from supplier called Wray outside Strabane. Very happy after having burnt over 400kg this winter on an open fire. See my post here after a month of burning it.
Its a bit of a change over polish, you dont get much of a flame, but you can get other products that will do that (generally a mix). But the heat would be better and more consistent for the whole burn than polish coal. Produces a bit of ash which is most likely the binders/fillers but I probably wouldnt go back even if I had the choice.
Theres a few other recommendations in this thread for other products that are most likely just as good. But I'll be buying more of this next time.
Cheers for all the information. Have to say I've been very happy with the smokeless Supertherm and like yourself, do not miss the big flame from the polish coal as the constant heat from the supertherm and no smelly fumes is the bonus. The eco-glow looks like the one to go for.
I see Wray say you must have a level driveway as the only use a pallet trolley.
I've a long sloping downwards tarmac covered driveway down to the house, so that might be a problem. Previous suppliers all had a small forklift
In your case the pallet deliver company would leave pallet on the public pavement. Then it would be up to you to transfer the bags to your storage.
You could try CB fuels, they use their own wagon with a fork lift truck. According to a post on this group. But please ring them to double check before ordering.
A half decent pallet trolley has a trigger brake (like a bicycle brake handle) on it so the operator can stop or slow down for use on inclines. I'd be surprised if the delivery truck didnt have one on it.
My driver happily reversed down the driveway past the house so he didnt have to unload the pallet very far.
Often they don't want to use up battery juice going up inclines or long distances. If couriers.
Anyone order from Smokeless Coal Express lately? I ordered a tonne on the 26th and there's still no sign of it and they are usually much quicker.
Same here. I ordered on 27th and no word yet. They were quick enough to send out scare mongering emails about possible price increases.
I actually emailed them myself after posting. They emailed back about 20 minutes later and advised they are working through a massive backlog of orders and currently waiting on another delivery themselves. They advised the delays about one/two weeks. So if it's one week I'd expect delivery mid next week.

Just about to purchase and was hoping to ask a few questions about the coal from CB. Does it burn well, does it give good heat and is there much ash.
The last batch I got from another supplier leaves massive clinkers so I want to try avoid the same.

The smokeless stove coal leaves very little clinkers and a very occasional small stone, medium amounts of ash. It lights quickly and burns fairly hot and gives good quick heat but for about 4 hours only, it's not a long burning fuel. Seems to be Hayes's Surelight (first batch I got was in Surelight branded bags).
Can somebody advise me here: is "ordinary" (non-smakeless) bagged coal still available in either NI or Eire?
I've been using CB for about 4 years now and never have an issue with the quality of the coal. Bought 4 pallets last year and I'm in the process of buying another 4 before it increases

Not legal to sell or burn new stock in south. (Not sure if the derogation allowing burning of old stock is still in place)

look like after the email they sent out and other company sending out email warring about possibly prices increase . Everybody been panic buying.
No not yet. I've a few bags left over here and with the warmer weather I'll probably be storing this for next winter at this stage.
Its not panic buying.
Its the huge increase in the cost of fuel resulting in reduced carrier frequency as transport companies try to consolidate loads to save on fuel. Some hauliers are grounding vehicles or reducing routes to avoid "dead mileage" (empty return trips) that they can no longer afford.
HiHi coal warehouse has post a message on their Facebook page.
saying they will be a price rise when all there old stock have been sold.
They are always crying wolf to try and increase sales.
