Prima Facie sold out in about four minutes. I know it was the Gaiety but I was surprised with no queue or waiting room.
He's on the run
Apparently Céline Dion is going to announce a Paris residency tomorrow (which is also her birthday), it’s going to be 10 dates between September and October at Paris Le Défense arena
Seem very ambitious considering her poor health.
Will she lip sync like so many other singers now, would be a shame if she did.
Ticket bought. I particularly love the debut album, and they'd a load of killer b-sides on those singles, too. The first time I saw them was in the Temple Bar Music Centre in 1998. I actually got free tickets by queueing up at the Irish Times office with a voucher cut out from the newspaper.
Tom Jones fist act announced for Live At Palmerstown
The Scratch playing down in Limerick on October 2nd.
I don't know why but thought they'd be aiming for a younger audience with these gigs.
They're playing Cork in September too.
They don't want muddy working class youths near the place.
I doubt they'll let you in if you're under 50 and dont have a camping chair. Preferably a few chronic ailments aswell. A bad hip or something. Guaranteed hassle free attendees.
Tom Jones fist act… Some things absolutely should be kink shamed.
They are going to have a hard time shifting the supposed 20k capacity fanirish stated
also no mcd or aiken involvement is interesting move considering the knowledge they have its quite bold for a venue to go it alone
Boo! That's a disappointment, I'm not going to lie.
I didn’t say these shows would be 20k. I said district x festival which uses the same venue is 20k/25k. District also doing run of shows around august bank holiday that are 5k. venue capacity can be whatever they want/think is justified.
Well at least he doesnt have a new album to plug.
Went to see him on his last tour and he played 8 or nine songs off his new album of covers and most of them were awful.
He should realise people arent going to see him for new stuff.
Decent lineup
Apologies for taking you out of context, i personally would be surprised to see this anywhere near 10k but more likely to be about the 5k mark and use the set up from the bank holiday weekend
the bank holiday set up is a covered greenhouse. It won’t that be for Tom jones etc. probably just a normal stage set up
Both Tom Jones and The Scratch are playing Belfast too
Not together, though 🤣
Tom Jones August 12
The Scratch September 26
That would be unusual if they did.
I'll get my coat
Wouldn’t be surprised if Nile Rodgers and Chic are next to he announced 😅
Rick Astley, Simple Minds, Billy Ocean, Nik Kershaw, Paul Young, Deacon Blue, Squeeze. Line em up.
Are there any rumours about in the meadows? I would have thought the lineup would have been announced by this stage if it was going ahead. It would be a shame to lose it.
No nothing. It would have been announced by now if it was going ahead so looking like it's not unfortunately which is a pity.
it was killed off. Couldn’t find a suitable headline act so it was taken behind the shed and euthanised
CANCELLED Seventh Wonder performs The Ultimate Fleetwood Mac at Ambassador Theatre, Dublin in August has been cancelled.
I couldn't find reasonable accommodation for that Saturday so kinda happy I'll be getting a refund.
Binned the entire EU tour it seems
A bit of a landslide decision
That's a shame, it was a great festival for mid-forties geriatrics like myself.
Yeah was good having a city day mini-festival. Would have thought there's demand for it so hopefully it comes back next year.
Any word on who might be filling the two Fairview park gig slots left vacant now Olivia dean upgraded to Marlay?
