Are they going up or down, any quotes yet?
Has 18 6 12 gone up by €100 in a fortnight?

Have you any fertilizer spread yet? I was going to chance some but it’s meant to get cold again during the week
I went with my first round yesterday and today. 38% + S. 3/4 bag on ground that got slurry and a bag on places that didn't. Currently spreading the last of the slurry on silage ground and I'll go with 2 bags of Sulfamo in 2 weeks.
My ground is dry, would you have any issues with it getting potentially cold during the week? Just I was thinking of going with some
Might go towards the end of next week, 50% of my ground wouldnt be travelable, at the minute, and like you said ground temps are low, in no humour to be wasting it
if ground was dry would you chance it?
I spread last Monday. 30 units to the acre
I wouldn't be too worried once it doesn't lash rain. Soil temp is 8.3°C here at 71% moisture.
I’m holding on for another week or two simply because it’s getting close to time to do the silage ground and it’s as easy to get the whole lot bulk spread at the same time
I was going to do today but fields are still tender enough eve with the good weather last few days . They wil just right Monday just in time for all the rain and we will be back to sq one.
Anyone have the latest price for can and pasture sward? I have 80% of my years stock bought but might buy the last 20% now too and forget about it then for the rest of the year.
Can up to 530 tonne.
happy days
Didn't CAN hit 800 during the start of the Ukrainian war. 530 could end up being a great deal
Yarra nutriboost bought at 390/tonne back early Feb and Yarra ami pro 560…..bought years supply at those prices ….sitting pretty on stock of both atm and whilst it all has to be paid for it’s a help financially this year
If spreading 18:6:12 on grazing ground that is bare enough…..what’s the rough timeline for when it has a chance to react in the soil and actively aid initial grass growth?
Need to get it out but weather looks like getting colder from Wednesday on so it’s probably not wise to put it out till next weekend…..
Appreciate any feedback…..
Did you get the silage ground grazed and slurry on?
I'll be 3 weeks behind last year at this stage with slurry and fert
anyone else not use there fertilizer out on the silage ground yet? I was planning on doing it this weekend but weather doesn’t look like it’s gona be good enough. Could have done with a few try days to dry them out. Early silage is not looking good for me
Your alright, the majority of people are still scratching their heads wondering where they put the spreader last year 🙄
It depends on demand and have you much grass fed. Some fellas gets a horn about being first with fert, silage, ect.
Heat grows grass, fertilizer helps it
Ya, its only an accelerator. Didn't take my spreader out of the shed yet. On the list of jobs.
Got the slurry out on Saturday on one field. Grazing on the reseeded silage ground is behind schedule as the bullocks broke out twice despite having the best of grass in front of them.
⬆️…….Appreciate anyone’s thoughts on my post above about how long it takes fertiliser to kick in?
it’s more about soil temps than anything else. Soil temperature should be above 5°C to see any meaningful growth. If temps are below that, then there’ll be minimal response to any fertiliser.
Soil temps are currently above average for the time of year, should definitely respond to fert quickly.
I'm only getting slurry out this week, be an end of May cut I think.
What fertilizer are lads putting out?
I'll be going with roughly 50 units of N on top of the slurry, plus P and K
how much p + k will u go with also conv3 ??
Not enough growth yet to get the value of fert round these parts. Daffodils are too strong yet, “be no growth till daffodils are dying”, presumably this fable was based on the ground temperature triggering daffodils to die off also triggers grass growth.
As for slurry, while some ground might carry a tank there would be still too much damage done.
I'll probably use 21-2-12 with S at 2.5 with clover and 3 bags an acre where there's none after the slurry.
High P ground and K is 2/3 on the last soil samples.
Should be roughly 90 N 25 P and 120 K on clover less field and 70 N 20 P and 105 K on field with clover.
Used similar last year and cut early May, came out excellent silage so hopefully it'll be close to that this year with a later cut.
Never heard of 21.2.12, it sounds like a good, fertilizer. I use a good bit of 18.6.12. But im tight with p, so I must keep an eye out for 21.2.12
