Texoil dropped prices by 60euro for 1000 litres since friday. Was 640 now 580 in Galway It's going to be cheaper in 2-3 weeks as crude oil dropped 23% on todays markets
If you have a local farmer or contractor they will be dumping oil drums. Thats what i use
I just got enough to get us to the summer i hope.
its an option that works in the short term till the pump sells out and has to buy it dear and sell it dearer again.
I use one of those syphon hoses with the marble check valve to empty them
One of these
4.7c duty on marked gas oil
zero duty on kero
Marked has oil is still diesel and diesel and kero and jet fuel all saw massive refinery margin jumps. 20% of diesel and 30% of kero and jet fuel for Europe came from the Middle East.
Previously this came from Russia.
Likely that Indian supply lines will now open and supply Europe if the blockade goes on much longer (some tankers can take over 300 million litres)
What is the thoughts about next week, and the possibility of lower taxes on kerosene and other fuels? I need to fill soon so wondering if it might come down a bit next week?
Ran out of heating oil yesterday, of all the times. Thinking of heading to the local forecourts and filling a container there. Anybody able to recommend a container to use? Presume a used milk bottle won't be good enough haha!
Just pop down the local DIY shop. They do plastic or metal jerry cans in a thing from 5 to 20 litres. And you'll have it for life.
Thanks yeah presume there's no specific ones for kero and another for diesel etc is there?
Rating is on the stickers on the side.
So the one in your example wouldn't be suitable for kerosene as it says for petrol/diesel only?
Anything with petrol on it will be suitable for Kero.
I've a small halogen heater. €25 in Woodies. 400/800/1200 watt setting.
The 400w was fine last night.
A lot cheaper for the next few weeks.
Might tide you over.
€1.60 a litre in my closest garage which is corrib oil maybe there the most expensive 🤔 especially if it's 40c cheaper a litre where you got it
I swear by it , I also have a superser as well I can get a bottle of gas for €29 which ain't to bad lasts me about 6 weeks based on roughly 3 hours a day
do you have a link for the one you have please ?

Thank you , typical my luck , woodies 10 minute drive away from me out of stock 😄.
Tank near empty here, have a load of turf, and just bought a trailer load of ash wood.
If ye can, try to get an alternative to kero for now, I know it's not something everyone can do.
They were on sale too. Probably clearing them out before this thing kicked off.
It was a few weeks ago i got mine .
When i saw prices go bananas i checked a local filling station and it was still 1.20 a litre. Ill check again today and see what they are
€585 for 300ltr here in Galway today…
Multiple reports in local media of more rises coming over the weekend.
Not expecting much from the government but would wait to see what measures they take next week to reduce prices.
bought oil on 12th march, 250 liters for 402 euro. Was surprisingly delivered very quick on the 13th March. Driver left paper receipt too. I bought it online (one of the few companies allowing online and best price too) and paid with my credit card, I could see minutes after transaction that it went to "pending" in my online banking. Normally its in pending for a day or so and then moves to processed.
Was pending up until yesterday (7 days) but now the transaction has disappeared completely from my online banking.
Any idea what's going on here, are they pulling the 402 euro transaction and trying to bill me a higher rate or something?
You got your oil and you got the receipt for it. What's the issue. If they have cancelled the due payment then you're a little bit richer today.
well as above, suspicious they are trying to bill me higher due to the way prices are etc
there is no way in hell I will get this free
Happened to me post war and pre war. Payment gets returned to bank if not claimed by a certain time. Then a few days later, it comes out again when they claim it.
at same price? 😬
Let's hope coming Tuesday something might be done to help with these ridiculous prices.
I am amazed the way lads think a company is gonna try this for the sake of a few hundred euro.
Yes
I don’t see why you are so amazed, some people will dive on any chance to make handy money if they can get away with it.
I rang a few a oil companies and they gave me a figure for 250 litres, 2 of them at the end of the call said along the lines of - now if the price goes up again by the time we deliver, you will be charged that new price. So that’s why I’m suspicious.
I obviously didn’t go near those companies and went with the online quote that was clear, but then the pending and disappearing credit card entry happened which made me suspicious
