Prima Facie sold out in about four minutes. I know it was the Gaiety but I was surprised with no queue or waiting room.

Great gig in prospect
.. fab singer, great performer
Anyone with Ye Vagabonds tickets for tomorrow able to tell me if the resale or transfer option is on by any chanve? Just looking to buy a ticket but making sure tickets can actually be transferred. Thanks!
Looks like Lael Neale is going to be support for Allah Las in Dublin and Belfast at the end of August. That's a good double bill.
Resale is not enabled for vicar st shows.
But transfer should be yeah?
Why’s that? Just curious.
Many thanks
Transfer works, toutless have a thread for the gigs
Cheers thanks. Yeah saw that, just wanted to make sure
It is.
Was at the Sigrid gig, brilliant night, great energy and a properly mixed crowd, everyone there for the right reasons.
And then, outside, Vinyl Man, stuck out like a sore thumb. Not at the show of course, funny thing is he didn’t even go to the concert, just circling like a vulture, black bag of vinyl in hand, sharpies ready, scanning up and down the Olympia alley like he’s waiting on a drop. Looming in the shadows like a grim reaper looking to get his collection of vinyls autographed.
Same routine as always. Waited four hours… she never appeared. Whole Saturday gone. Seen it before at Prima Facie too, skipped the show, still hunting the autograph.
Strange one, missing the performance entirely, just chasing the next signature like a junkie waiting on a hit.
Who is vinyl man
Highly strange how you always seem to take more notice of what other people are doing than just concentrating on the show.Really weird behaviour!
How do you know he waited four hours unless you did the same thing?
Lads, who da fook is Vinyl Man? Let's get the backstory here for the rest of us.
It be may be an actual person, but could be a generic term for someone who just wants to get merch signed so they can can post about it, or more likely sell signed merch for profit.
See those people with soccer and darts quite a bit.
Was at Sigrid myself last night and thought she was brilliant, she really has a great relationship with Ireland and you could see that in her performance
Queued up from 3pm onwards as she has a good following and wasn't sure how to gauge it, and I did in fact notice vinyl man as well haha,
I've seen that person with years just hovers outside the stage door like a vulture waiting for the vinyl to be signed, I can confirm the person did wait outside for nearly 4 hours until we were all let in to actually attend the gig, in the hope of a signature from her for his stack of vinyl,
Truly mental behavior to waste a Saturday for a potential signature from an artist that you're not even paying to see....
Maybe it's not for his collection, but to sell on ebay? Maybe he sees it as an earning money exercise
this is the reason a lot of stars (not just music) won't sign autographs. It's a business and most signed items end up on ebay.
Absolutely - and I agree.
My point is that perhaps, this was the reason for the lurking around when people couldn't understand why they were doing it.
Interesting booking for Kilkenny on July 18th
Thats a great booking for Kilkenny in fairness. Lisa O'Neill on support too. Wonder what sort of capacity the tent has?
Hopefully he'll play some other places. That's GIAF season; a gig in Galway would be class.
Might be of interest to some here
Saw that. You'd just wonder with the size of the crowds in Arena would it get fairly distracting if people are in and out to get food, drink etc over the 3 hours of the film. Maybe better suited to NCH or Bord Gais but then they'd only be able to sell a fraction of the tickets.
Tom Waits' agent Paul Charles on Rte Radio 1 there saying he hopes he will tour again. Would be great.
Anything more than hope?
Nah afraid not. We can live in hope but nothing concrete unfortunately
Hes on the new Shane McGowan tribute album so hopefully hes getting back into music. Still sounds great.
From late last year.
