Does it really? Who wants a bad bull.
Too much feeding can be an issue, and a store bull is overlooked. The biggest problem is a bull (especially this time of year) is down the ramp and into a field of cows
When there's feck all left in the middle of the breeding season lads will buy anything
She sold the bull for just over 4k today
plenty want a cheap bull
well you have a point there
I see that Dovea AI bought a bull, Shannon Vision at the Premier Limousin sale. Double F94L. Honestly, I thought he was the nicest bull at the sale.
Lot 10. Topping off a phenomenal day at the ringside for Sarah McElligott was the first-prize winner SHANNON VISION who commanded a price of €9,000. Vision is a son of Jurancon and the Hamac daughter, Shannon Marymac. This lineage carries significant prestige in France where both Jurancon and Hamac remain highly sought, however, they are no longer available. Nineteen month old Vision is a double F94L carrier. With his rare out-cross pedigree and immense physical style Vision was identified as the ideal package for Dovea Genetics expansive Limousin stud. The inclusion of Shannon Vision in the Irish AI market in the future will contribute to strengthening the national Limousin gene pool.
Looks like a fair muscle machine
bone seem abit light? Would his sire be for easy calving or females or weanlings?
ehat did you make of the rembrant bred bull at 9200, keltic vito.
He was better looking in the flesh. Jurancon is average Calving in France. Scores 99 at 99% reliability. 100 is average. Above 100 is easy.
JURANCON - FR2424384719 | SYNETICS
Not overly fancy from what I remember. I've used Rembrant in the past. Calves are not long. More a deeper body type, which I'd prefer in a cow anyway.

I think i like my Rembrandt calves more than the ribgy calves I have a few due for ai soon and im thinking of using mostly Rembrandt instead of ribgy. Both are very easy calved
Is that system the same for all French breeds?
Don't know. Kinda confusing too. For Jurancon, take Alait under IBOVAL, this is 103. Lait is milk. But under Maternal qualities, PLait is 108…….go figure.
trying to get my head around them too

Any use this blue bull he is the only sexed bull available in pg this year?
The next ICBF evaluation is tomorrow. The last one was in November so we should see reliability figures for bulls jump up with all the new calving data.
This is the evaluation that was postponed because the last one made a mess of the whole system. If you are looking at any AI bulls you haven’t tried before I’d write down or print their current ICBF chart. Tomorrow might break the system even more.
What exactly went wrong? All I remember strange from the last Nov 2025 evaluations were the Muscle scores in the Linear Type.
Cameos is 187 & Jurancon is 241, for example. No limousins were ever that high a value before.
I've been holding off buying straws till the new proofs come tru.
Cameos looks like a great block of a bull, would he suit bigger cows
I can’t see the calving reliability jumping up highly data collected is from October to late January so calving numbers won’t be huge. But there will be a few there for sure
Slaughter data should have good numbers though
He's no longer available but he's the sire of Jurancon. I never used him, but he bred very muscley, milky cows. Fertility poor though.
I'm not sure if it was November or the one before but the constant changes last year made a complete mess of the scheme. Every animal had figures jumping around the place and all calving difficulties went up by 1% to match the new way of estimating. The Limousin society were to the point of suing ICBF cause the breed got such bad stars.
They should have a decent amount of info from the SCEP survey deadline(as reliable as that is). There's so many test bulls with 0 records so it will at least give some actual proof on their figures. AI companies were holding off some of their catalogues like Munster Bovine/Progressive's Limousin and Charolais.
next proof run pushed out until Thursday
….
means there pushing out for a reason. Could be about to rock the boat
CCan they rock it much more, was talking to a progressive ai man, he was saying ch inseminations are well down
yeah I heard that also. He suggested if your selling in the back end to use blue and limo for exporter market and selling in the spring aim for ch for the Irish market.
new proof run and a World Cup playoff the same day? Excitement central!
Goes to show how big a competition the World Cup is, when just a playoff generates that much excitement.
