Sounds like all of the upstairs will become Decathlon, which means Tesco either loses all of their non-supermarket space or they end up doing a major rejig downstairs.
Decathlon coming to Cork is good, but the Tesco in Douglas is quite good, so it'll be a shame to lose that upstairs.
Wouldn't mind losing the clothes section in Tesco but the home section would be a loss

Nostalgia is huge right now and a lot of people went to spiders/cubins etc. but what will happen is all these over 30 club nights will compete and not draw enough crowds to sustain all of them and they'll all go bust.
The whole scene has changed completely all started on the millennium when most places were closed and people went to house parties.
So the Viaduct restaurant has been sold, and is going to become a bus station for West Cork Connect. Apparently it will also be developed into a plaza with a cafe and shop.
And more importantly, a park and ride and shuttle bus into town, ucc etc. And the Cork to Dublin airport route also. The only thing now is planning permission and access. It should've been a City/county council development, not waiting for a private company to pick up the slack. But I'm sure it'll be much better run.
The site looks small for all of that, when compared to the J14 site which isn't a bus hub or P&R. Still I assume they have a plan and I love the idea.
I think there was a few acres for sale around it some time back, so quite a big chunk when cleared of that's included.
