Reports stating that Israel have launched an attack against Iran
A journalist is a journalist. But if the strike was by an airplane, I suspect that through a thermal imager at 10,000ft, a guy holding a shoulder-mounted camera in a war zone in company of folks wearing body armor is going to look reasonably like a guy holding a shoulder-mounted weapon in company of folks wearing body armor. Wouldn't be the first time cameras have been mistaken for weapons, won't be the last.
There's an argument for using things like DJI Osmos these days. Not all the bells and whistles of a full-on professional camera, but also less likely to attract unhealthy attention.
Interesting, apparently warnings had been issued yet a reporter for RT went there.

I clearly stated he shouldn’t been attacked
But I also understand that Russia Today is a propaganda outlet whose purpose in life is to contribute to a world that’s not a better place but fulfils the dystopian visions Putin and the mullahs have for not only their serfs whom they kill with impunity but us decadent “westerners” they hate so much and want to drag into the gutters
People who work for them don’t deserve much respect
Perhaps spare a thought instead for all the real journalists Russian and Iranian regimes have killed and still have imprisoned
Yeah. I know this is just an internet forum and all; but there are rules of warfare.
A recognised state cannot just kill, or attempt to kill, someone because of what they say.
If we lose these rules, then we all go back to the jungle.
Really, this is like Piggy being hurled off the cliff in Lord of the Flies.

“Journalists are civilians and must never be targeted – this is a clear binding legal obligation,” said CPJ Regional Director Sara Qudah.“Striking reporters who are clearly marked as a press constitutes a violation of international law. The Israeli military has repeatedly failed to protect them, raising serious concerns about compliance with its legal obligations.
There is an argument for "they wouldn't need to worry about shoulder mounted weaponry if they weren't needlessly bombing Lebanon" also.
Israel seem clearly in the wrong, but I continue to bristle at anyone calling those people journalists.
Your life seems to revolve around making excuses. Curious to see how you excuse the ones killed in Gaza and why international journalists are still banned. Lets start here.
UN says 242 journalists killed in Gaza as Al Jazeera mourns those killed in Israeli strike - France 24
Gaza: Guterres urges probe into killing of journalists, as child malnutrition deaths rise | UN News
UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric on Monday condemned the killing of five Al Jazeera staff and a sixth reporter in an Israeli strike Sunday and said that at least 242 journalists have been killed in Gaza since the war began.
Thoughts on the 242 killed in Gaza?
(No response expected)
Many rules have went out the window in this war, including attacks against civilians in dozen or more neutral countries
Including now Palestinians being killed by Iran

Iran and their allies for decades loudly proclaimed they wanted a world without rule, its the cornerstone of their little axis
“the strike was caused by a cluster munition, a warhead that splits into tiny bomblets that scatter into a disparate area”
Hang on a minute, i thought these things were invisible and Iran had run out of air defence
One plane minorly damaged and returned safely after thousands of sorties is hardly something to be proclaiming as some Iranian success. The F35s have quite clearly been phenomenally successful even if you think the conflict is stupid.

I believe the words Russia Today likes to use are “crisis actors”
Something they used many times to cover crimes from the use of chemical weapons in Syria to bombed maternity hospitals in Ukraine to bodies that fell out of MH17

Once again, Iran are committing more war crimes through their indiscriminate use of cluster munitions in attacks against civilians.
IOF statement from that article is a riot
"The IDF does not target civilians or journalists and operates in accordance with international law,"
The footage that's surfaced of the claimed F35 hit is very interesting IMO. It looks as if the weapon used to hit the F35 may well have been optically guided, either laser or SACLOS rather than the usual A2A guidance of Infra Red or Radar.
The footage provided is similar to Starstreak guidance system. Systems like Starstreak and the older Rapier that Iran operated offer a unique advantage against Stealth aircraft. They can't be jammed or spoofed by the low observability offered, if the operator can see the aircraft? The missile can be guided to its target.
Now think about the destruction of Tehran's fuel storage and the resultant smoke pall. It's likely that the US and Israel used that as a tactic to give better cover for their aircraft against EO/Laser guided air defence.
More confirmation of the tail wagging the dog.
In a rare and unusually direct intervention, Oman’s Foreign Minister, Badr Albusaidi, has publicly challenged Washington’s role in the escalating war with Iran, warning that the United States has “lost control of its own foreign policy.”
Writing in The Economist on March 18, Albusaidi’s remarks carry particular weight. Oman has long served as the primary backchannel mediator between Tehran and Washington, including the most recent round of nuclear negotiations that were reportedly nearing a breakthrough.
According to Albusaidi, those efforts were abruptly derailed when “just a few hours after the latest and most substantive talks—Israel and America again launched an unlawful military strike against the peace that had briefly appeared really possible.”
For Muscat, the timing was not merely disruptive but deeply consequential, effectively collapsing months of diplomacy and raising serious questions about the reliability of US commitments in ongoing negotiations.
Recent reporting further underscores the depth of Omani frustration. Albusaidi has suggested that Israel played a decisive role in pushing Washington into escalation, effectively steering US policy toward war despite ongoing diplomatic progress.
Sky sharing images of Israeli damage? Clearly Skny news is now Hamas...
I think we had Turkey and Azerbijan yesterday cited as excellent sources with regards to US foreign policy, today it is Oman.
He is a paid Russian shill producing propaganda for a despotic regime that is responsible for probably around one million deaths in Ukraine.
How many deaths is his propaganda, and the propaganda of paid shills like him, responsible for?
How many young Russian men, living in a closed society, being spoon fed Pro-War disinformation, have hurried off to glorious war for the defence of the Russian motherland after the horrible Ukrainians "forced Russia to invade".
He is not a journalist, no more than the numerous pro-Hamas shills operating in Gaza are representatives of an independent media or Gazan free press.
Whether he is a legitimate target or not, I dont know, it is open to debate, but journalist he is not.
Here is a good intro to the subject. Like a lot of things it is a lot more complicated than the simplistic narratives spouted here.

Ok that’s fair enough that you don’t feel that he is a journalist, you are entitled to your opinion.
If he’s not a journalist then he is a civilian. A civilian along with the cameraman who were targeted by the IDF and therefore they have committed a war crime.
Do you agree?
No. He is obviously and by no stretch of the imagination a mere "Civilian".
He is an active paid Russian shill in a live combat arena to produce propaganda.
He is probably unarmed though, and should not be targeted.
Do you have any evidence he actually was targeted for being a "Journalist" rather than simple being in a prohibited area where advance warning had been given of an impending strike?
Israel is completely Fcuking up the world
What proof is that it was IDF that hit them? BBC article earlier just says “missile landed next to” doesn’t attribute source
As we seen higher up Iranian cluster bomb missiles are now killing Palestinians
It could have been a Hezbollah missile for all we know, you jumped to a conclusion to suit a narrative
No evidence as I don’t have access to the IDF’s strategy.
The 242 journalists that they have murdered in Gaza does show a precedent that despite what they say publicly journalists are very much fair game to be murdered.
But they don’t matter as you’ll hand wave those war crimes away as all they were all just pro Hamas shills.
Ah yes back to the “it could have been a failed Iranian missile” conspiracy theory.
Why do you feel the need to try and muddy the waters when the IDF are criticised?
Just Israel, is it?
These guys are back.
Russia Today who are pushing this story (greatest of ironies seeing the long body count of dead journalists that country has created) and they have a long history of “muddying waters” to quote yourself
Notice how we spent more time discussing this video wounding this RT fella instead of Iranian cluster munitions actually killing Palestinians or continued attacks against civilians infrastructure being carried out by Iran across neutral countries
Israel and the lunatic U.S. president who seems to be brainwashed or blackmailed by Israel
