They seem to have adjusted my residential lite price but I'm not sure is that just for rest of the month

The "Your Service Plan" figures appears to be pro rata, so it looks like my next bill will be €69. I did not receive any notification and only wondered if something changed when I saw a banner ad for Starlink mentioning its new €29 plan.
Correction: I just noticed that the "Your Service Plan" figures are ex. VAT, i.e. €40.65 x 1.23 = €50. The €28.46 from micks_address' screenshot x 1.23 = €35
I don't think so. It says my next bill is for Residential Lite from 19/03 to 18/04 for €35.01
I guess the question is would you notice if you downgraded to turn 25 euro plan from residential lite
I would say you would notice as the cheapest plan is now a maximum of 100 Mbps. The €49 plan is a maximum of 200 Mbps.
Every speed test I do seems to be a minimum of 250 Mbps - sometimes over 300. Never had any downgrade of connection at all really in day to day use. I'm staying put on my €35 plan 😃
I got an email off them today. I only have it about 2 weeks on the residential for €50
I was going to move onto the residential lite plan for €35 but now I'm unsure what to do.
My old broadband averaged 35mbps (€52) when it was working so realistically if I got the residential 100 plan for €29 and I averaged 80mbps I'd still be much better off than I was. I'm not certain if that €29 is before or after vat tho. It's a bit unclear
So they're giving people 1 euro off, but capping your speeds at 200. Some jokers.
I was paying 50 uncapped.
Still on the 50 euro plan here where the hardware is paid off after 12 months, no option available to change plans at the moment. Most likely switching to NBI in the summer.

My missus is going on like "Oh it's no big deal". I'm trying to explain to her that while we're paying nearly 20% less (€35 down to €29) we're losing about 60% of the speed (250 down to 100) 😡
I suspect they won't limit it that low.. I don't see much difference between lite and full speed
Why would they bother doing this, just makes the experience worse and 5G routers more tempting for much less upfront cost.
The Irish market is tiny/inconsequential. These changes are based of US usage . And they'll roll it out all over.
This country doesn't really matter in the scheme of things. Plus most people have a far better choice available or coming.

They will. There's some stuff going on with residential plans and roaming etc in the US. They've identified it as a revenue gap. Various YouTube videos about the changes they are implementing.
Tiny it may be but that would have been the onus of the price the way it was. Low enough contention and high FTTH competition was why it was only €35 for lite while the UK had it at 50 ish quid with penalties for using it in congested areas.
They know very well they are up against national fibre rollout and had been competitive but just shot themselves in both feet now for an unknown reason. Their US metrics shouldn't have a bearing on Ireland with a wholly different point of presence.

It looks like they will eventually force us….erm I mean "push us" on to the choice of 100mb/200mb or max subs. So as I was following the plans for the v3 1terrabit/s satelites later this year I will be capped at 200mb and never see the potential 500mb+ speeds from v3 satellites unless I pay Res Max 69pm? jfc Musk.
I presume it's do do with cost of energy, fuel and Iran. But that's pretty nasty.
I have 8 months contract left of my 50€pm Residential plan, i presume im untouchable until it's over. I was looking forward to Res Lite after the contract to see high speeds in low usage hours. That's gone down the pan ! However the deals are still better than my awful vodafone 20€pm for 15-25mb down and throttling my upload to 1mbit also. I am still glad I dumped them for starlink. Still if you dont have access to fibre, this is a bitter pill to swallow.
The Residential Lite plan was more than good enough for me (albeit it's just two of us in the house). Will see how it goes with the downgraded 100mb plan. Maybe I'm being optimistic, but I suspect it will be fine.
Got the email as well, I've been averaging around 2-300mbit lately so I suppose it won't be a massive hit to be capped to 200. In other news NBI contractors are down the road putting up poles today so it wont be much of an issue in a while lol.
Interesting - I have installed but am going to need some repeaters to bounce the signal around my old thick stone walled house. I was thinking of repurposing a friend's disused Deco system, but is there any advantage to using starlink gear? Our usage is fairly normal but there a couple of teenagers who complain about every "wifi" we have ever had anywhere. 🙄
If you can run ethernet cables id use the starlink mesh.. only 49 euro delivered.. you can also wireless mesh them..
If you are in an old bungalow and have easy access to the roof space then I'd go for wired access points.
Would love ethernet but not really an option at the moment, second property so usage is not heavy enough to justify the expense of rewiring. Wish I'd put them in at the renovation stage 20 years ago! So the starling mesh units can be used wirelessly also - are they decent, i.e. any better than standard mesh gear?
I haven't tried them in wireless mesh.. I did use a deco mesh and it worked decent enough.. put the starlink in bypass mode before plugging in the deco
I got onto support about these new plans and it said I'm staying on Residential Lite. The app has a preview of my next invoice (I just paid €35.01 today) for April 19th to May 19th as Residential Lite for €35.01 - we shall see.
Where are you seeing this for €49?
