I thought it was a very tough watch, but think our manager got exactly what he came for.
Tried exact same thing away to Rovers too, and was outdone with a penalty.
Poor entertainment value.
Jesus we did our best not to beat Waterford. Stupid late penalty gave them a chance but we held on. Few really good goals in the game and great to see Pierrot get off the mark. I'd imagine that'll be the end of Daly, 9 conceded in two games.
It was a terrible game and while Rovers could have edged it, t'would have scarcely been deserved. It's hard figure them out at the moment with the new players trying to bed in but so many passes tonight were misplaced or over-hit it made for very frustrating viewing.
Bohs probably better, looked like the home side, few tame shots straight at the keeper that should have tested him a bit more, moved the ball better. Shels didn't really create much at all bar a stunning missed header. Most of their chances came from sloppy passing.
Lovely bit of a ruckus before kick off too.
Never felt like we had anything on the bench to give us that bit extra, both teams looked happy to draw in last 20 mins.
That's it in a nutshell. Noonan's was a half chance, in fairness he was stretching for it.
Burney had a really good chance for us in the first half but draw a fair result and it stops our rot.
Rovers squad in incredible. I'd say only Conor Keeley from our team even makes the bench. A lot of them home grown or with them years. They really are the benchmark for other clubs if we can ever get near them.
Very 50/50 game. It’s absolutely wide open at the top this season. Much like the EPL any team can now potentially beat any team.
As a Shels fan, I don’t know whether to be positive that we’re solidly performing and aren’t losing given our injuries across the squad.
I have hopes of a full strength squad doing serious business once we’re firing on all cylinders.
Thought It was a quite a good game.
Rovers on top first half but shjt in the second half. I think we are missing Gaffney to swing this type of game like he did last season.
Not too worried as long as we stay in striking distance. Not in the sense of winning but being in the mix
Actually have a lot of respect for Drogheda under Doherty. They're a good team and it's always a close game for us there.
Kevin Doherty is an excellent manager, he has Drogheda very organised
Much Harder to break them down up there too what with the pitch being so small. We really seem to struggle there and in Tolka to get in behind teams.
Fair result last night at Tolka. With Shels managing 7 to 8 injuries during these double headers in the past two weeks we looked like a fatigued team last night upfront and the the middle who are trying to hang until this two week international break to get some of these bodies back but it was our most encouraging defensive performance so far Ibsen Rossi in particular showing that he is settling in well, three points against Sligo away on Saturday night would set things up positively with this break ahead after a patchy start to the season
From knowing the squads and seeing upfront in the three Dublin derbies in the past 10 days who I would rank in this order currently 1) Rovers 2) Pats 3) Bohs with us looking like the 4th strongest team, even if we get bodies back from injury I can't see any title challenge materialising from Shels this season

We are top of the league for a reason. Water tight defence, 6 clean sheets in 7. Superb midfield and a decentish return on chances created. 10 scored, only 2 conceded when we were 3-0 up in injury time.
We are not getting the credit we deserve from anyone outside Dalymount. We know we are building a potential title winning team. But I'm OK with that, let the doubters keep doubting.
Think Bohs are missing a good consistent goalscorer which are hard to get as every team would like one obviously ,Bohs need to keep the squad fit especially the two lads at the back if they can they have a chance but Shams still have to better squad and that should come through over the season .

TBF I went to all the Dublin Derbies in Tolka thus far and definitely I’d echo the summation above that on said nights, pound-for-pound I’d rate them Rovers > St. Pats > Bohs.
I will say Shelbourne were cat against Pats. Have all fingers crossed that the title race will be extremely tight. There is very little between all the teams.

I don't understand how they call it "written instructions to resign". Surely they are simply firing Joanne Byrne because from what I read there was no question that the Americans were getting rid of her.
Shes refusing to just go. Interesting to see how long someone can refuse being fired. Enochs set the bar high.
Maybe because it's not Amercia, you can't just fire someone spuriously.
She's not employed by Drogheda, this has nothing to do with employment law.

How much backing does she have from the supporters? Would they stage a protest or boycott for her? Genuine query, as it seems the owners are hellbent of getting rid.

Nothing stops them pulling the plug. They are Americans they have no deep ties to Drogheda. If they pull the plug and walk away that will be their choice.
As a Drogheda supporter, I admire her dedication to the club but it's time for her to go.
Once we were taken over, the old board was always going to go. The time was when she was elected as a TD and, especially, SF spokesperson for Sport. You can't wear those two hats unless your ideology matches both organisations.
I doubt her very close relationship with the ultras has helped matters lately either.
The club has been dragged through the mill lately. Another such episode is not in our interest.
I know we usually focus on the Men's League here but what the heck is going on at Athlone Town and the Women's team? They won the double last year and are going for three leagues in a row this season yet the manager John Sullivan has resigned after the first game. When you think their previous manager resigned suddenly during last season to be replaced by Sullivan, it's all a bit strange to say the least.
