Reports stating that Israel have launched an attack against Iran
The discussion point was the US missile that hit the school.
I would equally condemn Iran (or anyone else) launching any and all attacks on civilians and civilian buildings/infrastructure.
War crimes pay no heed to who is committing them. They are condemnable regardless of the perpetrator.
And justice should be seen to be done to anyone who carries them out.
Presumably you agree that Netanyahu should currently be in The Hague and not picking up a flat white in a coffee shop in Israel?
Alright. Fair enough. I found it funny. Each to his own. For example i love the comedy Get Smart, but my sister absolutely hates it. As for Hegseth, i definitely think this war has ruined his chances. JD Vance is in a much better position. Not that i'd back either of them personally
What made Israel and the US think they could take down Iran that is such a powerhouse? You would think of their first strike which failed they would have abandoned their mission and not keep on attacking Iran.
Thailand = not attacked, a thai registered ship was attacked passing through a active war zone. they were told not to
Azerbaijan = may have been a false flag attack.
Cyprus = struck an RAF air base. so not an attack on Cyprus. it was Hezbollah an not Iran, they has previously expressed concern over the use of Cyprus for military action against Hezbollah and has warned Cyprus against allowing Israeli military operations from the island.
I think JD Vance was damaged over Greenland. He has been quiet since. He is a non-interventionist so would be against this Iran war. I don't think Vance has the charisma to lead the Trump base. He is just too annoying - a face that needs a slap.
Hegseth is one to watch. Rubio too. Miller is a clown and is also damaged over ICE.
No I won't call him that because it's confusing, silly and incorrect
Calm down.
It's a play on a name of a very clownish individual.
You are overthinking it.
it makes perfect sense, it means that others can run the show in the background, sure isn't that what was happening with Biden, also like Sinn Fein and the IRA Security council
I am not overthinking it and I am perfectly calm. I am simply rejecting you telling me to use the factually incorrect name. I like facts, what can I say...
The Thai ship was a civilian ship, a war crime to attack it.
The attack on Azerbijan was a war crime too.
As for Cyprus, the UK were not involved in the war at the time, so doesn't matter whether it was UK or Cypriot soil.
I have also not mentioned the attacks on civilian infrastructure across the Gulf states.
Frankly, the excuses that people make for the horrible tyrannical regime in Iran are unbelievable.
The US haven't even formally declared war ffs.
He can position himself as the guy who defended the spirit of the Maga movement if the war does drag on and is fresh in their minds. I think that maybe enough to make up for his lack of charisma. Rubio is the best performer( that might not be saying much) of the lot of them, but could be too toxic due to supporting the war.
It might make sense. The appointment sent a message that Iran wasn’t interested in negotiations at the moment which might deter other countries from getting involved. He’s a living (we think) embodiment of the unprecedented American attack on Iran’s government and he’s not needed in the day to day running of the war. Anyway, I’m sure the regime has a long list of replacements lined up.
the US attack on a unarmed navy ship and not coming to the aid of the sailors is a war crimes, aswell as many maritime laws. even the Nazis didn't leave sailors in the water
why are you choosing to ignore that.
Azerbijan, could very well be a war crime by the isrealis.
How was spent fuel from Arak sent for reprocessing when it wasn't fully operational when Trump pulled out?
From the mullahs’ point of view an attack on Azerbaijan wouldn’t be an outlandish move. Aliyev is friendly with Turkey, Israel and Britain. He would hardly say no to enlarging his country further, this time at Iran’s expense, if it could be easily done.
Electing the son shows that one/ several of the key US/ Israeli war aims has failed.
US/ Israel hoped that by killing Khamenei, the regime would fall into disarray, a leader palatable to them might take power, and people would 'rise up'. That has proved rather naive, as they seem to have accidentally killed all the leaders deemed palatable to them, the IRGC remain massively powerful, and the US already let down the 'people' who protested when Trump had previously promised to come to their aid should they do so. Also, their Internet is suppressed, and the US/ Israel are actively bombing the **** out of their country.
It is said that Mojtaba is in fact 'more hardline' than his father, and is even more ingratiated with the IRGC. Further, Mojtaba is supposedly a proponent of Iran's attaining nuclear weapons whereas his father disagreed with them on a moral basis, and had in fact cooperated with the 'international community' on nukes.
“If the Tomahawk was not caught on video, Iran were getting the blame.” Has anyone tried putting photos from that video into your favourite AI and asking it to identify the missile type?
Yes. A symbolic act of defiance while the IRGC run the show in the background
And yet some of those countries have US aerial defences to protect them against Iranian proxies such as the Houthis. Funny how the circle goes around.
Trump just now claiming to have predicted Iran would block the Strait of Hormuz, and also to have predicted 911.
The man's a raving lunatic. Claiming to be Nostradamus now, the ghoul.
Price if Brent oil is $95, so its actually coming down. (Up 54% in last month but down 17% in last week)
maybe if they weren't in bed with the Americans they wouldn't need them,
"You think Nostradamus has predicted me? Anyone checked? Tall, handsome, rich, famous and with a hot movie star wife? I bet it's in there somewhere. Well, if it's not in there, it should be, but maybe even Nostradamus couldn't have predicted all this WINNNNINNNG! We love winning, don't we, folks? Marco keeps on coming to me - great shoes by the way, Marco - and says 'Sir! Sir! You're winning too much! If you keep on winning like this, we'll have to replace the Lincoln statue and I don't think we have the money for that…' We do have the money, though. I just cancelled another department. I can't tell you which one, yet, but the savings will cover that statue. Any leftovers will go to upholstery in the ballroom…"
Apologies. As part of the agreement, the Arak reactor was to be redesigned to prevent the production of weapons grade plutonium. It was never developed
The point remains. Iran was sticking to an agreement regarding the production of enriched uranium, as confirmed by the International Atomic Energy Agency monitors. All parties such as the UK, France, Germany, China and Russia were satisfied. Trump stupidly pulled the plug
Can't commit war crimes if you don't declare war
Oh look, Israel has invaded another territory
BBC Verify already identified it.
One theory I've heard about how Iran is able to outwit the two aggressor states is that it has put nearly everything underground. They learned the lesson from the Iraq war that if they put all of their military assets on the surface, those will be bombed to oblivion. They only had a token navy and air force before the attacks and instead placed their missiles and drones in deep underground bunkers. So when Trump keeps saying 'We've destroyed their navy, we've destroyed their air force, we've bombed everything', he is talking gibberish.
Switzerland has denied a US request to allow military overflights on grounds of neutrality.
