Do you remember any ?
I remember Gerry Ryan playing that a fair bit, I think he even got Dana Lyons on the show at the time.
Irish charts are showing December 2002 as the only entry.
Well I looked it up and it says it was originally released in 1996. Interesting that it took until December 2002 to chart here...
I was going to post it in the 90's thread and said I'd check it and came up with 2002 as the date.
He had another one from 1998 called "Lubricate the Red, White and Blue". I don't think it made it over here but with the current political situation it still holds up well.
VV Brown with "Shark in the Water", she was on the BBC Sound of 2009 shortlist along with Florence and the Machine, Lady Gaga and Mumford & Sons, finishing 7th.
To this day I still believe Florence should have won the poll - she only finished 3rd.
Brian Kennedy - "Get On with Your Short Life"
Used for Permanent TSB ads back then but you never hear it now.
Reaching No.24 here and No.9 in the UK I can remember this being a regular on the music channels.
1 Giant Leap (Feat. Maxi Jazz and Robbie Williams) - My Culture
Men are not Nice Guys - Grand Popo Football Club.
This version has a different vocal in the chorus for some odd reason.

Father, Brother, Husband and Son by Relish. Big radio hit at the time and I was surprised it have a longer shelf life (especially considering it helps with the Irish music quotas).
Surprised to see this never charted here despite reaching No.16 in the UK
Glasvegas - Geraldine
Not sure if this song has been mentioned already, but here's more Scottish indie sleaze. You may not hear it nowadays but it's fairly well-remembered.
i remember rainbow zephyr being their big hit. then westlife went and turned it into their 'own' heap of sh1te
Despite being a staple of the Video channels this only reached No.27 in the UK and didn't even chart here.
The Chemical Brothers - The Salmon Dance
Together - "So Much Love to Give" (2002)
Has this one been mentioned yet? "Need to Feel Loved", by Reflekt, from either late 2004 or early 2005.
This one hasn't. Filthy Dukes and Sam Eastgate (LA Priest and formerly Late of the Pier), with "This Rhythm".
This song has been popping up in a load of Facebook feeds recently. Particularly nostalgia videos of Ibiza showing all the closed clubs or the beach during the winter.
It's a cracker of a tune
I like it. I remember a presenter on a Dublin station a few years ago saying he thought he was the only person who knew it existed!
wrong thread
And then there was this Spacedust-esque soundalike version in 2005...
whispers: This is actually N-Trance.
Des Mitchell - "Welcome to the Dance" (2000)
Described by one Planet Sound forum user as "so bad, I'd rather listen to Chico (of X Factor "fame") on repeat".
came out in 1999, radio was late to it well at least here anyway.
great tune.
So nice to read this. I listen to it often offer. There are excellent remixes out there, incl. Adam K and Soha (i believe) and acoustic versions. So chill.
Sounds very similar to Destination Sunshine by Balearic Bill
both were produced by the guys behind airscape and Svenson & Gielen.
they also produced alice deejay's track the lonely one.
Was listening to the One Hit Thunder podcast and they mentioned this. Didn't recognize the name but remembered the song from the Playstation and movie trailers. Was nominated for an MTV video award as well.
Quarashi - Stick Em Up
It didn't reach the main US charts but was #27 on the modern rock chart.
