Mclaren have won the court case against Alex Palou to the tune of $12m
Further hearing due to determine legal costs.
Statement from Alex Palou.
Indycar is back this weekend with the road course race from St. Petersburg.
Can anyone stop Palou winning a 4th title in a row ?
Its been a good off season for Indycar, Chevrolet and Honda both confirmed as continuing engine supply for the foreseeable future.
Mick Schumacher makes his debut this weekend, while Will Power is in the very unfamiliar Andretti colours as Dave Malukas starts his Penske career in rhe #12.
All races are on Sky .
Awful start to Mick Schumachers indy career
Unlucky or you make your own luck? Wrong place wrong time.
That was very impressive from Hauger to keep it out of the wall
I thought I would never say this but Indycar is more attractable to watch than F1 at the moment
Phoneix was a great race ,Joseph Newgarden the winner but Rasmussen !, stunning drive.
We go again this weekend - Arlington, Texas
Pleasantly surprised by the new street circuit around Arlington, Texas.
Weather forecast means the race starts at 3.30pm tomorrow, an hour earlier than planned.
Qualifying suggests a Honda race with only Pato O' Ward in his Mclaren being the only Chevy in the top 6.
Marcus Ericsson secures his first pole ,with Alex Palou second and Pato third.
Mc Laughlin was looking dominant until hitting the wall ,almost a carbon copy of Newgardens earlier crash which damaged the tub and hindered Newgardens Qualifying in the spare.
There will be yellows tomorrow but another good race looks on the cards.
With Zak Brown in town Pato may be a good call for his first win of the season.
For the Indycar regulars, how is Mick Schumacher doing so far?
Ok for a rookie, St.Pete was taken out ,Qualified very well at his first oval,Phoneix, but quickly fell back through the field , today at Arlington- average qualifying then a penalty for causing a crash.
Indycar Is not easy as many F1 drivers have found in the past, Mansell and Zanardi were the outliers , give it a few more races to see how he settles in.
Cheers. Would like to see him do well. Have the Arlington race on in the background, noob question - how come they don’t use a standing start like in F1?
They trialled it a few years ago and rolling starts were preferred, Nascar also uses rolling starts.
Decent battle at the front at Arlington, very surprised at how good the racing at this new circuit is.
Great move from Kirkwood on Palou
Still surprised how easy Palou got past Pato for P2.
Alex Zanardi has passed away aged 59. He was a legend anyway for his brilliant 1997 & 1998 CART championships but he will always be remembered as a bigger inspiration for his achievements in life after suffering those horrific injuries in Germany 2001 and in that handbike accident 2020
Great Indycar race from the Indy road circuit in progress at the moment
Qualifying delayed due to rain and lightening
Full day of exciting qualifying ,Alex Palou putting his Ganassi Honda on pole, with Dave Malanus in his Penske Chevrolet in second alongside Alexander Rossi in his ECR Chevrolet.
No bumping this year, a blessing as both Jack Harvey and Caoi Collet being disqualified, EMS hardware alterations, the same issue that saw Andretti being disqualified last year !
Today is practise 7 and today was the first serious incident on track when Alexander Rossi spun and was then hit by Pato O'Ward and Romain Grosjean.
Alexander Rossi has been taken to hospital but is awake and alert, Pato and Romain were uninjured.
Looks like indy500 will be disrupted by rain tomorrow
I didn't realise it was tomorrow! I knew qualifying and all had happened but I always had it in my head as the same weekend as Monaco.
Should have guessed with Monaco being later.
Great news nonetheless.
Genuinely think Conor Daly won't have a better chance to win this than he does today.
Looking back at practices, looks like he has a very fast car under him.
Scheduled green flag time for us is at 5.45pm but with today's Indianapolis weather forecast there looks to be a high percentage chance this race at some stage gets interrupted by rain/thunderstorms could have a race to lap 101+, hopefully at worst they should be able to finish late but may overlap with the Canadian Grand Prix
I would agree, however Conors car suffered some damage from debris of the Rossi crash on Monday ,the damage was to the underbody of the car,key for aero.
Palou looks the favourite, and if not Conor, probably the most popular driver at Indy ,a win for Pato would be very satisfying.
Liberty putting the F1 race on the same day as Indy is a massive own goal, there is only one race in America today, the biggest of the year ,the Indianapolis 500.
Katherine Legge is doing the 'double', racing in Nascars Charlotte 600 after Indy ,an already important race on memorial weekend, now having an added significance following the tragic passing of Kyle Busch.
Fingers crossed both races avoid rain delays.
Mick Schumacher and Romain Grosjean just had their Indy 500 introductions..
Danny ric is at indy500
Palou, Daly and Malukas the top 3 coming to lap 60.
All the Penskes well placed. Set up quite nicely at the moment.
LLads, I just turned on the Indycar, why have they stopped?
Rain
Doesn't Look too wet.
They won't race if it's anyway wet
