Hai, is buying a 2 bed terraced home in adamstown or 3 bed semi in kilcock a better choice. We are a young family with one toddler.
3 bed house all the way if they are same price. Kilcock is not that far from Adamstown so should not make a major impact on quality of life for you
Thanks a lot for the comment. Much appreciated
Each will have their own benefits and hard to really decide between either with the very little information we have.
Do you drive? If not, Kilcock wouldn't be ideal at all and Adamstown would be far more suitable.
Where do you work? You could be looking at a much longer commute with one over the other.
What are the area's in each place you're looking? There's 'good' and 'bad' areas in both. If the one in Kilcock is in a nicer area then that would be better for raising a family compared to Adamstown.
Do you have family nearby to either location, very helpful with a toddler.
There's a million of factors that you need to weigh up in your decision.
@Rocket_GD Thank you so much for your comment! We're currently deciding between Tandy's Lane in Adamstown and Lyreen Meadows in the Outerney Village, Kilcock. I commute to Booterstown twice a week, and while both areas have train access to Connolly Station, the commute from Kilcock might be around 20 minutes longer. Since the houses are priced similarly, it’s a tough decision to make.
If it was that commute 5 days a week it might make it a close decision, but 20 mins longer 2 days a week isn't bad.
Would be the 3 bed for me. 2 bed won't be long filling up to the brim with a toddler.
Adamstown will very soon be a DART service - Kilcock never will be so that is something to consider. Also Dublin Bus. You are choosing between a Dublin suburb and essentially a rural town. Places like Kilcock have the estates and growing populations of suburbs but they will never have the variety of leisure / entertainment / shopping / transport options you get in a suburb so that's what you need to weigh up, the whole package of that really.
