Can you think of any?
Great first song to kick this off!
Space - You and me vs the world. Female of the species isn't as forgotten due to Film and adverts.
Stakka Bo- Here we go again. Fun fact lead singer Johan Renck went on to direct the TV series Chernobyl as well as episodes of Breaking Bad, Walking Dead and Vikings.
Saturday Night by Whigfield. Not my kind of song, but stuck in my mind ever since I once heard somebody point out there is a duck quacking throughout the entire song.
Bran van 3000 - Drinking in LA
Only limped into the UK top 30!
Doesn’t matter! Still a great tune that had a fair bit of airplay. Actually I remember being on a US holiday in the summer of 99 and it was constantly on American radio that summer.
this was constantly on the radio, 1993 I think…
1995. They also did "The Living Years" six years prior.
.
Fools Garden - Lemon Tree number 1 in 95 but never really heard anywhere since apart from a Dustin the Turkey cover.
Another song we loved better than our neighbours - it only reached #26 in Britain!
I thought Chernobyl was brilliant.
Brimful of Asha - Cornershop
In fact, the New Radicals' You Get What You Give did more than limp into the UK Top 30! It reached Number 5 and spent quite a bit of time in the Top 20! I saw recent repeats of episodes of Top of the Pops from 1999 (I know it was released in 1998), where it was slowly dropping down the Top 20 over a number of weeks.
Anyway, to me, as regards the UK Charts, if a song gets into the Top 40, it qualifies as a hit. There are plenty of examples of so-called "One Hit Wonders" that were not actually OHWs as they had at least one "other" song in the Top 40 or even Top 30.
I particularly liked the original unmixed version of that song.
Could easily be in the bands you didn't know were still going thread as they're playing Dublin in November.
The Wallflowers - One Headlight
He's talking about "She's So High". It only got to #30 in the UK. In fact, a cover by Norwegian artist Kurt Nilsen in 2004 outpeaked it in the UK, reaching #25.
Reaching no 6 in the Irish charts ahead of it's UK no 14.
The Connells - 74-75
A Girl Like You - Edwyn Collins
Not a radio hit as such, but was popular on MTV Europe back in the day.
I bought the album all those years ago. Love the single still.
Ace of Base - Life Is a Flower (1998)
Road Rage by Catatonia
Re-recorded for the American market as "Whenever You're with Me", in a different key and with different lyrics.
How about this one
Two Princes by Spin Doctors
Would i lie to You - Charles & Eddie
some of the songs mentioned here so far are certainly not forgotten radio hits - I would put them in the category of "Not forgotten 90s radio hits" and you'd hear them most days on the radio - New Radicals, Spindoctors, Deep Blue Something, Edwyn Collins, Mike and the Mechanics, Cornershop (Fat Boy Slim remix).
