Tierney pulls one back.
good point in the end after that first half display. Must win at Aberdeen this midweek
The archetypal "game of two halves".
Much better in the second half, probably had enough chances to win it but a draw is a good result after Rangers dominated the first half.
Game next weekend will is going to be spicy after the agro at the end of this one
Much better in the second half, Butland did very well to make two saves at the penalty. Must win game in Aberdeen on Wednesday night
Also amazed how long Beaton took to give the penalty, no booking either.
not good for the nerves these games, even the penalty took 3 attempts before going in
Very poor so far.
From a neutral perspective, the game isn't high quality but it's full on by both teams and quite entertaining as a result.
Offering little threat today.
The usual old firm game. Severely lacking in quality from either side. It's akin to watching two bees in a jam jar, buzzing around like lunatics. Rangers have been the better (less bad?) of the two sides.
Does this go to penalties or replay if still level after extra time ?
One chalked off for each side now. Both correctly.
Not sure the Celtic goal being ruled offside was the correct decision, unless there's a different angle for it. Blue line looks miles off
The offside was given against Scales (nearest Celtic player in the picture). And he was the player who flicked the ball on. 100% correct decision.
We're so poor going forward, I don't fancy us to even get a shot on target in this shootout
I know it was Scales flagged as offside, but the Rangers player highlighted in red looks way past the blue line at least
The fact we didn't deserve that makes it all the sweeter.
Idiots on the pitch
The was some backs to the wall game but perfect penalties and it utterly enraged Rangers
Thatll sicken the cùnts nicely.
Fairly shocking scenes. Definitely need better stewards/policing to stop Celtic fans getting on the pitch at the end. But the reaction from rangers fans was ridiculous. The lads in balaclavas looked like they’d dressed up as spiderman. Should be big consequences for rangers. Heavy fine or have to play remaining home games behind closed doors.
lol, not a hope. The both sides arguments have started already.
The state of this, "look at the state of yer fans 🤣"
Idiots on both sides, each side escalating it. Rangers fans left the stand for their disallowed goal, then Celtic fans on the pitch at the end of the penalties, followed by Rangers fans attacking Celtic staff.
I know as a Celtic fan, I'm biased, but it's become too common now for Rangers fans to attack Celtic staff and players on the pitch without penalty. Anyone on the pitch yesterday need to be identified and banned. Anyone identified attacking people or throwing things into the crowd need to be jailed.
We'll be back to no away fans for these games just when they were starting to be allowed again. It takes away from the atmosphere but there's no other solution, that I can see.
It seems the Rangers "ultra-fans" had pre-prepared that agro. They had the balaclavas and flares ready and waiting. A few Celtic fans came onto the pitch on their end and hundreds of masked Rangers fans charged the full length of the pitch to attack them.
The journalism around this has been pathetic especially from Talk Sport putting equal blame on both sets of supporters when this was clearly not the case.
Whether Scales was or was not offside we will never know given the ridiculous manual VAR used for offside calls. The image show above and what was put up on TV was embarrassing an absolute joke. Basically the VAR people are guessing based on those images.
I watched the game and there was a replay which showed Scales was offside fairly clearly. Just about, but still offside.
That angle appeared to show he was offside but you cannot determine it with the camera angles shown
The replay put up on the screen with lines drawn to try and show Scales offside was risible. I am not saying that Scales was for sure onside. What my point was and is remains the same. The facts are the version of VAR used in the league that has manual lines drawn to figure out offside is not fit for purpose as it clearly leaves tight decisions up to what is flat out guessing. Offside is a factual decision and it would actually be that if the league used the proper VAR system but they don't and hence you have guessing going on for tight offside calls.
For reference, theres a photo above with coloured lines drawn on it.
This is not what I seen watching the game live on TV. The angle is different.
