Reports stating that Israel have launched an attack against Iran
It's becoming very apparent that Iran's ability to strike is reducing while their foes ability increases. Absolute shock and awe last night.
The news doesn’t seem to change all year , Israel basically killing all round them be it in Palestine, Iran or Lebanon … does Israel ever get tired of slaughtering people ???
Brent crude oil 95 dollars. Big spike today. Things are far from normalising just yet.
One way for it to be over soon is for the hardline Iranian regime to collapse, which 80% of people there want, People there are opposed to the regime and live in fear anyway, judging by reports after tens of protesters shot in January.
Japan surrendered unconditionally in 1945. Became a great success after that.
You seem a bit excited by it all. You remind me of that character in the movie Hannibal that is rebuked by Ollie Reed' s character.
More importantly for US customer and importers of US oil.
WTI up 14%
What do you think are the medium term impacts of this war?
Destabilised Iran and middle east? More/Less terrorism? Refugee crisis? Economic impacts? Israeli settlement expansion? Democratic elections?
Yeah it's going real well for them. The economy isn't getting rekt at all.
☝️
People who don't study these things must realise Iran, as it stands, is built not to win, but to dig in and endure. Any ceasefire/peacedeal despite the bombing and death will be seen as a victory. Trumps madness in wanting to oversee the new leader is base ignorance but what's new there. There's no signs of a uprising yet.
Just out of curousity where are you getting this 80 per cent figure from? As I can recall before Saddam's regime fell being told all Iraqis would be celebrating, yet in Anbar and some other provinces it clearly wasn't the case.
Nah they love it,they're taught and brainwashed from young that these other people want to murder them and their family in their beds, which then gets reinforced during the mandatory military service, add in the whole sky fairy promises and you have blood thirsty lunatics,no different from suicide bombers,ISIS or any terrorist organisation….they just have better backing and paler skin!!
Iran can win this war. If the regime survives they have won. It will be down to how long the US are prepared to keep bombing. It's going to be extraordinarily expensive for the US if they keep up this level of bombing for many weeks or months.
5 billion so far I heard. Don't know if that's nuts or an actual figure. 50 billion by months end if this keeps up. War makes some people insanely rich. But you can't live forever.
Thoughts and prayers
Shock and awe is a disgusting phrase that completely ignores the tragedy of the victims. You seem to have zero compassion for the innocent civilians suffering these attacks around the clock.
America is the largest producer of oil on the planet. And weren't they looking to get Venezuelan oil moving? Looks like they've got the solution. The low prices weren't doing it any favours.
Who told you before Saddams regime fell ALL Iraquis would be celebrating?
No
30? Over 3000 babies were born at Auschwitz. The woman who helped deliver many of them survived the war and is currently up for beatification by the Catholic Church.
The European Jewish population was increasing before their genocide also
What happened to make the Japanese surrender?
It’s from an online poll.
I'm seeing a lot of celebrations. There's also been evacuation orders for a lot of these city strikes which probably explains why so many are chilling on rooftops with phones ready to go.
Shock and awe is military terminology.
Only 30 babies survived Auchwitz.
Oh no, what now. Iraqi Shia militias getting hit?
Nothing surprising about that.
I remember one of those abandonments in Syria where they pelted the American vehicles with eggs as they left. The US soldiers looked shame-faced.
There seems to be no sign whatsoever of regime change in Iran or any indications of civil unrest. Given that they have safely weathered one week of bombing and the death of the Ayatollah, it's difficult to see what the US and Israel can do to swing the pendulum - simply bombing the hell out of the place from the air is not going to bring about regime change or 'surrender' (the Israeli crowd couldn't manage this in two years of bombing of Gaza).
Is there much information, particularly independent information, coming out of Iran? Genuine question. I've been dealing with a head cold for most of the week and as a result, I've been avoiding the news like a plague, but I'd genuinely like to know. If the regime have managed to lock down internet access, we might not find out something's going on until we see open warfare erupting between different factions.
Safely? Half of them are dead and the other half are hiding/sitting ducks.
George W. Bush February 2003
“The people of Iraq will welcome the liberation of their country.”
Dick Cheney March 2003
“My belief is we will, in fact, be greeted as liberators.”
Ahmed Chalabi
“The Iraqi people will welcome the overthrow of Saddam.”
Paul Wolfowitz
“It is hard to conceive that it would not be greeted with joy.”
Iranians are just trying to stay alive at the minute so I wouldn’t expect unrest to appear yet.
