Reports stating that Israel have launched an attack against Iran
They're winning in the short term
interesting take, I suspect the meeting with Xi will go something like this
Trump - “You have something I need, and I control something you need”
aside; how will Iran be able to build more drones and missiles {that also require rare minerals and electronics} if they endup being completely blockaded and their factories, refineries, power plants, ammo dumps, key infrastructure is destroyed from air by B52s flying around as complete air superiority was achieved in a day.
Haven't you heard - countries occupying land in or adjacent to Greater Israel are not neutral, they are squatters to be exterminated.
I won't argue with you re air superiority. The key for Iran is the ability to keep firing missiles. Israel is a dot compared to Iran so it's easier for the latter to flatten the former which it will if this turns into a battle of attrition. Also ammunition is seen as a possible weakness for the US/Israeli forces. With Israel's Iron dome now out of the picture Iran has begun to use it's more powerful weapons. It is Iran's stated ambition to free the Palestinian people from Jewish oppression. I think they'll pull it off.
Most analysts agree with you that a win for Iran is not having the govt toppled. I think they will win militarily unless nukes are used. Either way Israel as we know it is most likely finished. The world won't permit the Zionists to remain in charge there. It's a pariah state.
I wonder military or commercial ship. I presume military ship as would seem to be alot on board for a tanker or commercial ship.
They really need to do a name change. The whole Ayatollah K thing ain't working.
That sounds like a conspiracy theory, last I checked this is not the conspiracy theory forum
I haven't seen that about the Iron dome. If it's not just propaganda more than half of Iran's missiles launchers have already been destroyed. UAE has reportedly intercepted 92 per cent of Iran's missiles. I wonder how many missiles they actually have left.
If Iran does manage to retain some of its missiles it can hold out, but ultimately i don't see it winning militarily, but politically i see it winning if there are no mass defections fom both the political and military establishment. So far there is no sign of that
To be fair to RTE just seeing on Telegram just now that his appointment hasn't been confirmed but he is the leading contender.
So Trump's regime change strategy was to kill Ayatollah Khameini and end up with Ayatollah Khameini. Nearly as bad as the US spending 20 years to replace the Taliban with the Taliban in Afghanistan.
The general consensus is that the Iron dome is virtually useless now and is running out of interceptors. Iran used up old missiles to eat up interceptors. Iran has been preparing for this war since 1988. Doesn't mean victory but they're ready. It's crucial for the freedom of Palestine that they win militarily.
military vessel, a Moudge-class frigate.
Thanks for that. I suspect they were far from home and were not expecting that at all. Be interesting was it a US sub or Israeli sub that done that.
Your post although funny is correct. Killing Ali Khameini has had a rallying effect on the people of Iran. The Trump Administration doesn't have a scooby what they're doing. Even the politicians briefed by the admin said they're clueless. The Iranians have planned for this showdown, even if they didn't initiate it. They knew it was coming. Fingers crossed they prevail.
Yeah, I'm curious too. US I assume?
You would think it was but then Israel been planning this for a long time they could of had the sub shadowing the vessel since before the 1st attacks but then again so could the US.
Very hard to know what “done” looks like in terms of America and Iran - with Israel involved, there will never be a “done”- we have to assume that at a minimum, America obliterates Iran’s nuclear capabilities or at least sets it back decades. It would be a failed mission in my view if they didn’t achieve that. And I think that would then be trumps exit strategy- he’s not interested really in who rules Iran as he won’t be around to suffer the consequences of it - he’ll claim a victory no matter what and leave the Middle East to pick up the pieces
This isn't the general consensus. The iron Dome isn't used for ballistic missiles from Iran btw. With very few if any projectiles coming from Hezbollah/HAMAS the iron Dome isn't unreal much threat of running out.
Iran on the other hand are running out of everything fast and the ability to launch them. Their output has decreased dramatically in just 4 days and it'll only get worse.
They will have a number of ballistic missiles in deep storage but they won't be much use after the entrance to these bunkers are collapsed.
Agree completely, I mentioned earlier that I fully suspect in medium term if there is no ceasefire Trump will just walk away and call the gulf states “freeloaders who drain our missiles, we done so much for them, yada yada” just like he done in Europe
One variable however is if the Gulf states somehow bribe his crime family and he stays on region for longer, keep eye on trumpcoin flows
Yes, it's David's Sling that's used for the ballistics. And Israel are bringing online their cheaper laser based air defence to replace the Iron Dome.
Listening to Morning Ireland on RTE Radio One this morning and a phone interview with a guy who's stuck in Dubai with a pregnant wife and 91 year old father in law I had a certain amount of sympathy with his situation but primarily it's the responsibility of his airline (Emirates) and his travel agent to get them out not the Irish taxpayer. More so for any ex-pat Irish tax dodgers in the Gulf region, they can make their own arrangements if they want out.
Later RTE had some ex-US State Department advisor, during Biden's Presidency, on talking about moving to the 'kinetic' phase by which she meant bombing a sovereign state. If this is what represents the opposition to Trump in the U.S. then forget about 'the rule of international law' for the foreseeable future.
JFC we get your point, you have been repeating ad nauseam for days now. Is there a reason you keep repeating it? Is it not getting the bites you want? It brings nothing to the discussion.
Chancellor Merz's abject performance yesterday was on par with Rutte's demeaning performances. Merz sat like a frightened child as Trump berated Starmer and his European partner Spain. As if that wasn't bad enough he himself proceeded to join in the criticism of Spain. Demeaning!!!! Later he tried to act the hard man again, once Trump was out of sight!!! Some posters claim that Europe will emerge as a stronger continent after all the recent upheaval but imo it's weaker it's becoming.
”drain our missiles”
Hmmm yeah, ya see, there’s the rub. Even America great and all that it may see itself, has its limits and even they know that you can’t afford to dump all your munitions on one stupid made up war. With Europe on apparently half mast in terms of military capability, with a number of years to go before it can step up comfortably, and England looking like a complete basket case with a number of ships on refurbishment assignment that will take another decade, it’s understandable that people are fearing China (no less Russia) will take advantage in the coming few years.
But then that’s back to why the fck get in this deep in the first place? If Israel wanted to go it alone on Iran, let them- it’s their war to fight and their consequences. I thought America was done with this part of the world and was focusing on South America and parts of Asia. They could royally kick themselves in their private’s if they don’t look out
Israel vows to assassinate Iran’s new leader. How can they be seen to engender any goodwill in the eyes of the Iranian people?
Because people keep bending over backwards to excuse attacks on neutral countries and their civilian populations?
Something that is great importance to the civilian population of this neutral country with next to no defence capabilities??
edit; appropriate username for a world Iran and their allies and Israel and co want, a lawless world where might is right and laws don’t matter
And heres my thinking that Team America -World police were going to give the Iranian people a good ol dose of "freedom fries", as a result of the recent protests.

While he does speak from both sides of his mouth, recent white house history has shown that keeping your mouth firmly shut at these Trump love-ins is probably the best policy - you can’t win- the whole room will turn on you and you’ll look like a fool across the world - less is more sometimes
but not saying anything makes you complicit in the eyes of history. Everybody blindly allowing him to shout at the clouds is what got us into this present situation. He has been completely emboldened
The only way that Erdogan may send some bullets to the Kurds is through end of a barrel of a gun aimed at Kurdish head. This level of wishful thinking is like speculating to enlist Hezbollah to help IDF cleanse Gaza off Hamas. 🤣
