Last time we watched crimecall, there was a lad caught on CCTV footage, stealing computer parts from a shop in Mullingar. Although he'd tried concealing his identity with a hat and glasses, me and the missus were convinced he was the cut of a fella who lives in our village.
I suppose it must happen regularly, that people think they might recognise someone from one of the grainy video clips, but still never feel confident enough to actually go ahead and report them.
So sad that Jo Jo Dillards body still has not been found. Her poor family. The person who took her and I think we all have a good idea who it was must be as cold as ice.
Deirdra Jacobs too. The poor parents. Whoever done this if they are still alive are cruel evil bastards.
The bastards are still living out in some foreign country.
A reminder that Crimecall is on tonight at 9:35PM.
I doubt that. I would say its the general public they are hoping can identify them by their walk or gate etc.
I know, but a lot of times, the "descriptions" of the suspects are useless. I do wonder, are they hoping that other criminals that may be aware of the crimes will rat them out.
What else is he supppsed to say? They are totally covered up.
Catching up on tonight's programme now. The robbery of the Volkswagen Golf, the Garda said of the suspects, "so as you've seen they're well covered up, but people may see them or notice them from their gait or their build."
Ya, that giveaway characteristic, gait or build. SMH.
Some of the descriptions of the suspects involved in crimes are laughably bad, On the CCTV footage of the break-in of the service station in Prosperous, "2 of the men wore red and black gloves, while the 3rd man wore grey gloves."
They must be quaking in their boots gloves.
They robbed €14,000 worth of cigarettes and vapes. I noticed one of them grabbing a few bags of salt & vinegar Hunky Dory's as he was leaving.
Ah FFS, he now says "2 of the men wore black and grey gloves, and the other wore red gloves".
What a mix-up on such a crucial piece of information. 🙄
Carla asks him to remind us of their descriptions, 3 men, "one is of slimmer build and one is of stockier build." Hhhmmm.
"2 of them wore distinctive gloves, red and black, and the other wore grey gloves."
Yes, thankfully he has been charged, so couldn't post about it and it can't be discussed.
As part of tonight's update on previous shows they said that they identified a suspect for an assault in Cork, I presume it was this one
"Crime or crime prevention doesn't take a holiday" they say. Crimecall does though.
They just did that tonight and thanked viewers for helping identify suspects that led to arrests.
Crimecall is on tonight. Missed the start, and watching the snooker, so will probably watch it on +1.
and the second they’re released they’ll be back at it again. Sure how else will they pay for the fancy range rovers and extravagant weddings/funerals. They should be neutered.
Father and son jailed over burglary, handling stolen property
Dublin father and son jailed for string of burglaries of rural homes and pubs
They are $¢úm, absolute $¢úmb@g$! If it was me, I'd give them both life sentences. I remember their robbery of McDermott's pub in Castlebaldwin in Sligo featured on Crimecall 2 and a half years ago. I know the pub, I have darkened its doorway numerous times down the years.
It's not just the monetary damage, it's the psychological damage done to all their victims.
Alan Lavin from Frenchpark, Co Roscommon detailed how he followed a vehicle down a road leading to his mother’s home before three masked men emerged from it, attacking his van and driving a hatchet through several panels on it. He said there was relief that the Connors had been apprehended.
🤔

The last link is paywalled.
Yea it might seem trivial when you think of the level of serious crime that's going on. But I guess they only have clear CCTV of a limited number of offences so that's what they show on the programme. It's what makes the show interesting and watchable.
And businesses are scalded with petty theft eating into their profits continually so it's a huge issue and warrents coverage.
They do cover the bigger stuff on Crimecall too.
Protein bars and energy drinks 🤣. The shop must have been sold out of spinach.
Of all the serious crimes in the country, they show CCTV footage of a man robbing a bottle of liquor. I think it's from Supervalu in Gort, they don't name the store.
He should be easily identifiable. But, the consequences for him of this all over something worth maybe 20 or 30 Euro. His world is about to be rocked.
But just in case anyone criticises the Gardai or the Gubbermint.... they come out with this 😂
There's a lot of these unprovoked attacks going on. That was a terrible attack on the man in temple bar. The two guys reckoned he was selling heroin. More like they were on heroin and wanted more and when he didn't provide they decided to give him a walloping.
That outrageous, disgusting unprovoked attack on the woman in Cork I see is trending on Twitter/X, and I'm not surprised. I've thought about it a few times today. The sooner that #### is caught, the better.

It seemed totally unprovoked. A shocking attack. Maybe he just didn't like the colour of her hair, what she was wearing and was copying the way he saw women treated where he grew up.
It was an awful pity there wasn't a few male friends with her that could have apprehended him as you can bet your bottom dollar this fella is walking around some other town or city now and the Gardai wouldnt have a clue who he is.
Safe to say no one watching will know him
A coward,
Scum of the Earth he is.
Just came on to say this.
What type of lowlife randomly attacks a lady like that?
Dirty $¢úmb᧠who elbowed the woman in the face in an unprovoked attack on a street in Cork, I think it was. Knocked her unconscious and broke her orbital bone. I could say more...
It's up there now, I see, for 3 days. It's a rare thing to see it there, at all.
It's on Player now
I've watched it on the Player but they can be slow to put it up. It only stays up for 2/3 days.
Carla ended the show by saying: "If you missed anything on tonight's show you can catch up on the RTE Player."
No results. I don't ever recall them saying this on the show before, and the show has almost entirely never been on the RTE Player. It's a criticism I've mentioned before. And the fleeting time it was up, it would be just 1 episode and gone after a day or so.
It is still so sad. The poor Famiy can never fully get over that.
