The auto Var said onside so technically it's onside but I have looked at the replay a couple of times and I can't see the onside. Might see better on MoTD later but it looked off for me. If that was Forest getting that on a position of a toe, I'd be annoyed.

Forest played away in Turkey on Thursday whereas Liverpool had 8 days between last game and yet liverpool were 2nd to everything and looked about 5 yards off the pace.
The point is that with the squad we have now, we have no entitlement to be competing to win the league, injuries always happen in a season. Bradley and Frimpong are no where near our best players, so to be reduced to what we have now on the bench, with a couple of (albeit critical) starters out is a pretty poor indictment of our squad building over the last half decade. We have a top 4 squad, not a top 1 or 2, simple as.
Even the way the goal came in the end speaks to our problems. Dom throwing a ball into the box where our monster CB is now acting as a makeshift striker.
Whoever is manager next season needs the CL money and appeal to improve this squad.

A goal is a goal, complaining about performance and turgid football is one thing but the complaining about winning games and scoring goals is fairly miserly.
What this game has highlighted to me is the glaring personnel issues with this squad. We have no threat wide left or wide right. When a team plays 4-2-3-1, that's a massive issue.
We also need someone more combative in midfield to complement the qualities we have in there.
We can see now why Isak was purchased, Ekitike is developing but he's far too profligate in front of goal.
A reliable right back would also be brilliant.

Rio has to be somewhat protected at his age. We’re out of the running for the title, and top 5 should be very achievable with him getting only impact substitutions, so bringing him on only when he’s needed is probably the best use of his ability at this time, with a view to increasing his minutes significantly next year. One exception would be the latter stages of the CL if we get there.

Getting a significant injury at his age could impact his whole career, we don’t know yet what his top level is. It would also significantly impact our summer transfer strategy when we’re already spread thin.
I'd saey Rio should start as well, i think it'll highlight the difficulties of maintain the sub impact for a much longer period though.
He needs to realize where and when to play also, some dangerous stuff in our own half in stoppage time but that will come.
You could get an injury crossing the road,play him if he at the standard, have you been to underage games ? Honestly the tempo and aggression is higher,he is far more likely to get a bad/misstimed tackle, better off at the highest grade if up to it, it's not like he will be sitting at home.
Macca, for both situations (disallowed and allowed) was dogged, chasing into the box, putting himself into a position to get a goal. This is exactly the type of grit and determination we have been crying out for all season. The fact that VVD was up there standing tall assisting the goal should be celebrated, not criticised. The team had lost the ability to win by any means possible, and in fact the opposite would happen, they would stand back and fall apart in the last few minutes. I don't think things are great, but a goal is a goal and a win is a win.
Statistically playing 90 minutes vs around 15 minutes is going to be minimum 6 times more likely to be seriously injured, and in fact with fatigue is probably 10 times more.
Also the comparison with underage is laughable I'm sorry. He's playing with teenagers vs full grown hardened heavy men who would target any weakness. In any case having him in the senior squad means he'll be playing significantly less with the younger crowd.
He's not going to be much good sitting on his arse so that statistic is laughable, young players need to play,get experience.
