Hoping a New Thread may fix the posting issues.
Statistically playing 90 minutes vs around 15 minutes is going to be minimum 6 times more likely to be seriously injured, and in fact with fatigue is probably 10 times more.
Also the comparison with underage is laughable I'm sorry. He's playing with teenagers vs full grown hardened heavy men who would target any weakness. In any case having him in the senior squad means he'll be playing significantly less with the younger crowd.
Macca, for both situations (disallowed and allowed) was dogged, chasing into the box, putting himself into a position to get a goal. This is exactly the type of grit and determination we have been crying out for all season. The fact that VVD was up there standing tall assisting the goal should be celebrated, not criticised. The team had lost the ability to win by any means possible, and in fact the opposite would happen, they would stand back and fall apart in the last few minutes. I don't think things are great, but a goal is a goal and a win is a win.
You could get an injury crossing the road, play him if he at the standard, have you been to underage games ? Honestly the tempo and aggression is higher,he is far more likely to get a bad/misstimed tackle, better off at the highest grade if up to it, it's not like he will be sitting at home.
I'd saey Rio should start as well, i think it'll highlight the difficulties of maintain the sub impact for a much longer period though.
He needs to realize where and when to play also, some dangerous stuff in our own half in stoppage time but that will come.
Because we want him to be the best option for the next 10-15 years, not just one dead rubber half season. Getting a significant injury at his age could impact his whole career, we don’t know yet what his top level is. It would also significantly impact our summer transfer strategy when we’re already spread thin.
Its just a symptom of our play, serious investment and we run out of ideas.
Really, why, he should be playing if he is the best option.
Watched the first half and then went for a lie down.
Unwatchable garbage.
Lost to Utd and City at home. 4 points dropped to Leeds.
Jesus wept.
Rio has to be somewhat protected at his age. We’re out of the running for the title, and top 5 should be very achievable with him getting only impact substitutions, so bringing him on only when he’s needed is probably the best use of his ability at this time, with a view to increasing his minutes significantly next year. One exception would be the latter stages of the CL if we get there.
You could see that but couldn't see the ball coming off MacAllister's elbow???
That's funny thinking Salah will be here next season.
We will try for Yan Diomande in the summer I think
Biggest thing for me too, highlighted by Ngumoha causing problems simply by having the pace to make simple darts down the line.
Honestly, Ngumoha must be close to a start if selections were done on merit.
Agreed. I'd stop watching football if I was that miserable with a last minute win.
I thought we never gave up in the end and got our reward. Who cares how it comes about.
What this game has highlighted to me is the glaring personnel issues with this squad. We have no threat wide left or wide right. When a team plays 4-2-3-1, that's a massive issue.
We also need someone more combative in midfield to complement the qualities we have in there.
We can see now why Isak was purchased, Ekitike is developing but he's far too profligate in front of goal.
A reliable right back would also be brilliant.
A goal is a goal, complaining about performance and turgid football is one thing but the complaining about winning games and scoring goals is fairly miserly.
Even the way the goal came in the end speaks to our problems. Dom throwing a ball into the box where our monster CB is now acting as a makeshift striker.
Whoever is manager next season needs the CL money and appeal to improve this squad.
I can't remember a team losing ots identity ao quickly.
The point is that with the squad we have now, we have no entitlement to be competing to win the league, injuries always happen in a season. Bradley and Frimpong are no where near our best players, so to be reduced to what we have now on the bench, with a couple of (albeit critical) starters out is a pretty poor indictment of our squad building over the last half decade. We have a top 4 squad, not a top 1 or 2, simple as.
Another game and another shocking performance.
The sooner the better Slot is replaced, the players don't even run. Must be his directions.
Forest played away in Turkey on Thursday whereas Liverpool had 8 days between last game and yet liverpool were 2nd to everything and looked about 5 yards off the pace.
That's actually a fair argument I hadn't thought of.
Next season under our new manager
How many times have a we seen a forward offside because of his big toe? so if the same logic applies, a defenders big toe playing someone onside is hardly that controversial? No?
What? The offside technology ruled it offside. That's exactly why it's there.
I see slot ball as a lesser form of rafa ball, at least Rafa had the defenders and midfielders to play this balanced type of game.
CL final against Bayern
No identity. No style. Turgid.
The auto Var said onside so technically it's onside but I have looked at the replay a couple of times and I can't see the onside. Might see better on MoTD later but it looked off for me. If that was Forest getting that on a position of a toe, I'd be annoyed.
Personally I thought the first one should have stood as he knew nothing about it when it hit him. His arms were in a natural position.
think he hit the wall a good while ago
I know we have a lot of injuries, but playing Szobo at RB is a criminal waste of his talent!
The second half was nothing like the first. Slot and the team deserve credit.
Forest didn't have a sniff, even though we created little ourselves. The gaps were plugged and we ground out a functional half, which was turgid, but solid.
Ngumoha the difference. Pace and directness.
