hello, we are a family of 4 from Howth in Dublin considering moving down to Cork and as we are used to suburban life wondering if I could get some thoughts on from maybe those who are bringing up young children there or were brought up there.

We like the idea of living close to the sea and beaches, having a bigger possibly detached house and garden and a small knit community that’s very open and welcoming. Obviously good schools and some nice extra curricular things for the kids who are 5 & 3 years.

    Thank you.

    Try asking here https://www.boards.ie/categories/cork-county

But you are next to the sea now, on the DART line, and sounds like one or both of you will be regularly commuting into Cork City which is no picnic

Places like Kinsale the property prices are off the scale even by Dublin standards.

    I'm partial to your abracadabra
I'm raptured by the joy of it all
