Why not just discount the M3 standard by €3.5k instead of a trade in booster. Then cash buyers can benefit as well and Tesla sell more cars. Or are they coming back with trade in values under that offered by trade minimising the discount they have to give on the car?
Same reason VW, Nissan, Cupra et al do the same thing. I’d assume it’s an accounting exercise.
I had an order in for the old premium RWD model which was downgraded to the standard. Tesla have now come back with an offer of a White or Quicksilver premium model but it’s an older version that does not have the stalks or the front camera.
As a gesture of goodwill they will discount the paint cost, I would just need to cover the VRT (approx €300 for White or €700 for Quicksilver)
Other than the front camera, are there any other differences I should be aware of? They will retrofit the indicator stalk
Badges will be silver. The latest updated cars have black badges but you can get some covers on Amazon
the battery seems newer gen with more range. Tesla still sells (RHD) RWD premium in the Australian and Singapore markets. Ask them to ship one here
It will have the slightly larger capacity (60kwh net) then had been available since last May.
All 252 registered cars would have this battery.
Had a look at the New Zealand and Australian sites, great prices there. New Zealand approx €33.6 for RWD Premium and €37.6 for RWD LR Premium. Australia slightly more. Also 5 yr unlimited mileage warranty + possibly other incentives.
And Model Y only a few K more..

What a ****** of a tester. Was never asked for mine last week, I did know where it is on 2022 model.(Slide drivers seat back and under carpet flap),
Surely tester would ask first before failing? Sounds fishy tbh.
They fail it. come back in and give fail cert. then you tell them you know where it is. and they say, I’ll meet you out front in 5 mins.
Seen it with my own eyes. tester could have easily asked the owner of course but some will, some won’t.
We've seen on here that there are plenty of people for whom Tesla and Musk lives rent free inside their heads. So there's probably going to be some testers who are more than happy to "not find the VIN".
Because they can scrap or resell the cars that get traded in to recoup some of the €3.5k discount
Lol relax. A VIN under the carpet is completely normal and accessible. A VIN that requires removing trim on the door is not normal or accessible therefore if you don't make it accessible for the tester you will fail
It's no different to forgetting to remove your wheel trims. If you forget to remove them the wheel nuts are not accessible and therefore a fail.
I passed with my wheel trims on a fair few years ago. It was only later I realised they should have been taking off. It always depends on who you get.

I never took the nut covers off my M3P. Tester came out at the end and told me I'd passed but he'd need to see the nuts.
I'm pulled off the covers on all 4 wheels. He came out, glanced at the first one and told me to go inside for my pass cert.
There's a new Premium RWD Model 3 in inventory atm. May be of interest to someone. A few extras, but no indicator stalk (Can be fitted) or front camera.
Probably wont last long..
Did I hear correct that anyone both at buys an inventory car, Tesla are fitting the indicator stalk as part of the deal.

I think it really suits the Model 3 in a darker exterior colour. Feels more spacious. Not so sure about the Model Y. It's big enough already inside.
