Clock doesn't bother me.

Well not enough to take the van off the road let alone the dealer is 70km anyway.

Bothers or not, at least that's genuine reason to insist on dealer to get everything fixed, especially that both issues are closely related to each other. Just saying. :-)

Yeah but the other thing isn't a fault.Its a feature and a stupid one at that.

I assume the radio goes off when you open the door without the engine running? That's just the way they are. Sometimes they do the opposite, you take the key out of the ignition,close the door and the radio will stay on but goes off when you lock it or open the door again. The clock resetting might be the likes of a loose connection, I've seen that on a Duster and it was a loose connection behind the instrument cluster

3 vans, same year. Same thing open drivers door or passenger door

on all 3 and they do the same thing.

Ive had a few newer one while my one was in getting serviced and it's not in those but they have a touch screen.

Whether it's to do with that or not I don't know.

I'd really like a diagram of the wiring.

I'd fancy my chances of sorting it better than a dealers going by the book, if I knew what wire was what. 😀

Can I throw a tyre question in here please. I have a steel wheel with 185/65/15. Have found alloys off the same model with 165/66/15.

My 185 size tyres are nearly new. How would I find out if 185 would fit where the 165 were?

Youll need to check the wheel nut spaces

If both sets of wheels are 100x 5 or maybe 114x 5 etc.

Just because they are off same model doesn't mean they automatically match.

Sorry for the confusion. My existing tyres on steel wheels are 185/65/15 and the alloys are fitted with 165/65/15. Was wondering would the wider tyres fit the alloys?

They will almost certainly fit but it ultimately depends on the width of the alloy wheel.

The alloys are either 5 or 5.5 inches in width.

I'd been looking into the same issue on my van and found it had a "Vtech Parksafe" installed.

This is a safety box which turns off the radio when the door is open or when reversing.

It comes in two parts wired up behind the dashboard (pics below), one rectangular box close to the radio itself, and a cylindrical unit mounted lower down.

Maybe your van has the same unit installed?

It looks potentially removable, though I haven't tried to get rid of it yet.

My van is second hand ex-fleet, so I don't know if this was installed by Renault or by the company who owned it before me.
