So thought I’d throw this up, in a similar style to the electricity and gas switching deals available
one big switch have a deal for eir Broadband €35 a month and €100 credit added to your account for new residential account holders, if you’ve had eir before use spouses name which I’ve done in the past
Well god bless your eyesight, I'd never have spotted that, many thanks.
Well spotted!! Its very well hidden there!!
No, it's unlikely to be the same. The UAN on Pure Telecom bills is hidden on the first page under "How to pay your bill", it's under the "Post a cheque" above the PostPoint logo.
I'm out of contract a few months with pure, have planned to switch to a 12 month contract with eir but cannot find my UAN on any bills or correspondence with Pure. I have an old email from digiweb that had my UAN, so would it still be the same number after about 8 years?
Many thanks again mate.
Edit: Nothing to see here 👀
Thanks. PM sent.
Edit: Nothing to see here also 👀
Just something to be aware of.
Switched over to Pure last week from Eir and the Huawei router Pure sent is certainly an inferior device to the old Eir F3500. Getting much lower download and upload speeds over wi-fi on devices upstairs compared to what I was getting from the Eir router I had.
As expected Eir want their router back now or will charge a €60 non return fee so I think I'll be picking up a used F3500 from CEX for €36 instead.
NotShero summarised it perfectly in regards to switching but if you're happy to stay with eir you should give 1901 a call. They can offer new customer pricing, sims for €9.99 and TV for €9.99. There's better value to be had with other providers if it's just broadband alone that you have though eg Sky are 500Mb/€30 and 1Gb/€35.
Not if switching, you should be able to tell the new provider to cancel on your behalf under the new IASS process.
If you are switching to a provider who is going to use the same access network (OpenEir, NBI) then it should automatically cancel anyway when the new provider takes over, once the UAN/CRN/NBI Line ID is given.

Do you have to give notice if you're out of contact with Eir ?
They're paid per install. Existing ONT = No €. So most of them will install one anyway, even if it's replacing it with the exact same model!
30 with the stream box, which I have.
Im out of contract with Pure Telecom on the 24th of this month. Im on NBI network and want to switch to Eir's 5GB plan. But its a 24 month contract with April price rises built in.
If I switch on 25/2 (current expiry date), I'll be hit with a price rise in April 2026.
However, according to Eir's T&Cs, new and recontracting customers who sign up in March are not subject to a price rise until the following year i.e. April 2027. So my plan is to let current PT contract expire (currently €35/m) and should automatically be placed on a rolling 30 day contract @ €50/m.
Then on 1st March, sign up to Eir. Hopefully it will be a straight switch after a couple of days. I should then only be charged pro-rata for about a weeks worth of usage with PT.
I should then have only 1 price rise over next 2 years which I can live with, as its still by far the cheapest plan at that speed.
Installer came yesterday and replaced Digiwebs Huawei ONT with another Huawei ONT, reconnecting to Digiweb
The lad said they just do it but probably no need
yeah I got a Huawei router sent out from Pure last week before going with Digiweb which was a Zyxel for the 1GB
Huaweii but I don't use it, ONT connects straight to main Deco
Why does this one not go up every month from April but the €30 offer does?
I was with Sky 4 years ago for fibre - an ONT was installed, I then left them when my contract was up & switched to VM, this was the coax set up. I left VM when my contract was up and went back to Sky, who had the existing ONT replaced with the exact same model.
Made no sense why but installer said something about a commission or something.
I have a Fritz Box 7530 WR. Has not come down once in 18 months.
Have had Sky 500mb for 30pm since May & have had zero complaints.
It's €35pm for 1Gb with Sky, which shouldn't be affected by the price increase in April.
Is Sky BB service any good - opinions? 30e/month 1Gb seems the best offer, but only if it is reliable.
What router do you get with Pure?
If I was you I would be happy. Nearing my final first year with pure @500mb - works perfectly, and you can speak to an irishman in customer service if you should need. If I get offered the same deal I would be delighted!!
Sky are applying CPI increase in April to their 500mb package per website. 1GB package has no CPI.
Sky maybe? I think they're still doing 500 for €30.
Renewed with Pure Telecom. Dropped the home phone and agreed €35 a month for 500mb with no mid term increase. Getting 489 download speed and 51 upload. Is there a better deal?
Did a year with them. The service was great it got messy when the contract came to an end I had to threaten them with comreg to get sorted, they're a take the money first kind of company and it's fcuk you if they're wrong. I wouldn't go back to them.
