As predicted
So Ireland have a fatter team?
Fat doesn’t equal muscle
Not being able to even name half the side you are criticising damages you’re credibility.
If the rumoured teams are to be believed than Ireland will actually have the heavier pack
905kg for France compared to 916kg for Ireland
50% win rate with 2 if those wins against Japan and Fiji. They really aren't any good. It's a brutal situation given they're hosting the WC next year. They have very good players so I don't know what's up but the Eddie Jones hangover persists. Beating them in a series with the best players from Britain and Ireland is not anything to feel great about.
And yet both are so poor. It really is strange that people compare both to each other rather than their peers. That's when you begin to understand
SP is soooo far ahead of Jack, it just doesn't make sense that people are trying to compare the two. If anyone is competing with Sam it's Harry.
In fairness if the pack gets overpowered, prime dan carter wouldnt save us. No ten can compensate for losing set piece and collisions
"Absolutely fine against LAR" - missing five tackles and being caught out for two tries.
Just because he finally made a couple of tackles does not cancel out the above. He's a joke defensively still and while I obviously wish him all the best in green I'd be concerned about him starting behind a pack that won't have the upper hand when all evidence points that he can't handle it.
I'd have played Crowley away and Prendergast at home, think Farrell has misjudged this one (but happy to be proved wrong on Thursday).
Go home, you're drunk
Indeed Porter and Furlong, Ryan, Henshaw, Aki, Ringrose, Casey, Gibson Park, Tommy O'Brien, James Lowe. When is it time to let it go. Must we just embarrass ourselves before we do something about it
Crowley and Prendergast .
Watch more of him
His bulk & power is something we just don't produce in this country.
His clear outs at rucks & ability to carry into the tackle are his usp.he will get you the hard yards that can set up your attacking platform much quicker without burning energy doing so.
Twice he has done an 80min shift, he is being dripped back in which to be fair considering his double injury is only correct.
I don't ever see him as an 80min player if I'm honest.
His brother on the other hand good go 100mins...he's a different athlete & also a great prospect...really impressed with him in the last 2 games
In last year's Rugby championship Australia beat South Africa and Argentina. They had one double digit loss which was by 14 to New Zealand.
What matters is how he played when called up for the Lions tour. Do you think there's anybody that could have come in who would have played better than him?
Rugby really needs to switch to bigger match day panels but less subs.
6-2 remains a **** option for the bench. One more thing to dislike SA rugby for.
I would be shocked if Thornley was the one to get dropped off the panel.
About time he retired, and take Rud with him!
Not really getting all the Edwin hype. Apart from being a big powerful guy, he hasn't really shown much else - granted he's been badly injured for a good chunk of his pro career. Has he ever lasted 80 mins of a pro game? I can't see how he'd be a better bet, currently, than Beirne, McCarthy or Ryan.
The younger brother looks like a better player, to me. Similar power but far more mobile and better hands.
Time will tell. And probably prove me wrong!
the42 is now reporting the same team as the Indo so the biggest loser from this announcement might be Gerry Thornley
Think that Beirne in the row means he isn't at 6 and in a convoluted way that means Edogbo gets pushed out.
I completely agree with you rationally though. Just think it would have been cool.
I would have selected Timoney over Prendergast.
I think all our 10s have problems. On top form I think Crowley has the least and if he started I wouldn't mind. But on current form I wouldn't be arguing for him the way I have before.
Personally I don't take the Lions win in Australia seriously, if anything the defeat to Argentina says more than beating a very poor Australian team who couldn't win anything all year. The Lions dodged a bullet, that team would have been minced by NZ or SA.
He dominated the Croke park match a few months back and was the one pulling the strings throughout. He's a brilliant tackler, his form has dipped alright of late. MOD EDIT Poster warned
You clearly care quite a bit if Lowe gets picked. You seem quite obsessed with it.
Ya I was massively Crowley over Prendergast last year and up until Autumn but Crowley has kicked himself out of contention.
With a 6-2, you could just as easily name 2 locks rather than 2 back-rows, particularly with Beirne named at 2nd row tho. But overall, I’d be pretty happy with that; imo we’re seeing much more of encouraging selections from than we did last season.
Timoney is not there in egdogbos place, Ryan is??
Anyway if he's not named then it's quite possibly it's simply too early for him. I'm sure there's a mountain of homework to nailed down before you're ready for test level. He still is very young.
