Latest thread!
Nice alright. Well presented.
Where are you going next if you don't mind me asking?
Looking at something with an engine again for a while. I change my car very frequently and usually to something very different from what I currently have. The Model 3 has been a great car but I fancy a change.
It’s actually straight! For some reason it looks crooked in that picture but it’s actually not. The plastic surrounding makes it look crooked. I used a spirit level to measure.
Less than €20k
it’s not due yet.
No harm getting it done early tho. If its due in the next 3 months you'd get 2 years + 3 months
It’s due in March yeah?
You can test early, up to 90 days early and you’ll get the 2 years plus the 90 days.
Certainly worth the €60 for a buyer to know it only went through an NCT in the last few days or weeks before buying.
Thanks, I never knew that. I’ll see can I book a nct.
You can indeed.
can’t get a booking sooner than June!
Same, Monday afternoon no NCT bookings till end May, Monday night after 11pm a bunch of times for Wednesday. The Ionic bargain I was lucky to recently find passed perfect.
Traders have the NCT swamped with bookings for a wave of Jap imports that have just landed.
It's hectic every January because that's when most new cars are registered and thus that's when their first NCT is due. Thousands of Jap imports land here every week. There hasn't been any massive influx of them recently. As a matter of fact, boats have actually been delayed the past few weeks because of the weather
NCT March 26? Wouldn’t you be better getting that done? I also wouldn’t be highlighting the need to “refurbish wheels”- let the buyer decide that and maybe expect them to highlight when trying to negotiate - just feels to negative and pushes the prospective buyer to move on to the next car.
I prefer when sellers point these things out. It's more likely then than they are not trying to hide anything. Nothing worse than showing up to view a car that the seller purposely cropped out the destroyed driver seat bolster, or a big dent on the wheel arche. I include everything when selling and if not listed, It's information given over the phone. It means the buyer can't use it as a negative to negotiate. It's already in the open.
I heard 800 Jap’s came in to Dublin last week. Most of the delayed vehicles were due before Christmas.
That's normal, a RoRo boat arrives every week as well as several containers boats
I checked last Tues around midday and there were a few slots at Enniscorthy available that evening. Took the 19:35 slot and was fairly quiet, granted it was the bad flood day and I am sure there were many cancellations.
Does this price seem too good to be true...a good bit lower than others out there, but private sale Vs dealer so maybe that's the difference?

A new one was until very recently just 37k, so that's the price range for a 6yr old example yep.
Well priced imo
Thanks both, the next nearest ones in price are 18k and have twice the mileage but are older.
The geek in me would look to take this apart. Driven through a flood could be a nightmare and really I think it should be cheaper, its high risk but claims its driving 100% could be a bit of land mine go off at any time. Nearly needs to be priced as a parts car to take a risk.

definite brave pill needed for that one
A new NCT at least would be a start
Considering it is the nosecone car which already has an issue with water ingress and battery failure, you'd want to buy it with a source of a battery replacement already budgeted.
Just jumping back to this one - any common issues known with the 2020 SR+ models to watch out for?
Suspension usually, but add says it's been checked by Tesla
Cojones!!
