Prima Facie sold out in about four minutes. I know it was the Gaiety but I was surprised with no queue or waiting room.
who?
Super Furry Animals in Collins Barracks via Singular Artists/Gigantic is a tenner cheaper than TM.
Thanks for the heads up
It's a bit outrageous that the "face value" is different. Whatever about the fees, they should be starting from the same place. Damn TM, as always.
Bluetones doing Expecting to Fly (30th anniversary) in Empire, Belfast on 8 October.
I bought my ticket for Garbage and it was fairly quick.
But the Ticketmaster app would drive you insane.
Already logged in and booked the ticket. When I tried to view the ticket it asked me to log in 🤔
The "you're in" email came straight away. A few minutes later I got another email asking me "do you still want this ticket?"🤨
I would have thought that with all the money they get on fees they would put a minimum effort on their IT infrastructure, but apparently not...
Playing Whelans too.
Bumping this, one for all the gigs are gone too expensive everyone skips us types on here, two young international bands playing Dublin, galway and cork for 28 quid on a weekend, have at it lads.
Picture This in Athy tonight
Mad to see a band that sold out the 3arena twice over and other venues around the country playing a sports hall with a cap of less than 1000
It's their hometown, and seeing as the hall has been sort of given a list the last couple of years with events including Johnny Marr, it was a no brainer the band would do a homecoming gig.
Who are the support? Can’t make head or tail of that typeface on the flyer! 🙄
Coltaine been checking them out all morning and was very pleasantly surprised.

I believe it's 'Coltaine'.
I know, I’ve lived in the town my entire life, and have been to those other gigs
Doesent make it any less of a strange gig, and saying it was a no brainier they’d come back eventually is just patently false
https://coltaine.bandcamp.com/album/brandung Coltaine from Germany
Tickets are even cheaper in Galway. Just under €24 if you're signed into the Roisin Dubh website.
Hmm…no it's patently true. From the get go they've always cheered on Athy. Talked about it in interviews, done old music videos in the town and did a free gig on the Athy GAA grounds a few years ago. Like or loathe their music, they've always worn their hometown heroes stripes with pride.
did a free gig on the GAA grounds a few years ago? I think you mean a decade ago before they had even released an album
Yes they’re proud of their town, but there was a prevailing sense of the town being forgotten by them for quite a few years
Eh they released their first album in 2017, That gig was 2016…
Anyway look the gig sold out and many artists play smaller intimate venues. I'm not sure who you're talking to but I'd wager they still have a prominent place in the town.
I can't believe I'm arguing about Athy and Picture This…
I genuinely don’t think you’re listening to me, I’ve never said they weren’t popular with the town, I just said there was a sort of sense that they’d forgotten the town after all the fame
And I’m personally glad that it certainly seems they haven’t
You’re arguing about Athy and Picture This with someone who has lived in athy their entire life and knows both members of the band and their families
Too many sherberts at lunchtime in the ad agency that day methinks
I did listen. You said it's mad to see a band who sold out the 3arena them playing a 1000 cap venue. I was giving context to them being from Athy, because you didn't make it clear that you recognised that there was a hometown element to it. However, then you kept going on about Athy from there, and now you know the band members.
Maybe just tell the band members at the door tonight that it's good that they just about remember their roots.
This thread all too often: two dogs, one bone.
my bad, next time ill include all details of each gig and where all band members hail from, including their past relations to their hometown, along with my personal relation to all parties involved, just so you know its perfectly normal for a band that just came off a tour selling upwards of 50,000 tickets, play a sports hall in a town thats a fifth of the size of that tour alone
indeed, sell crazies somewhere else… we’re all stocked up here
Be handy if you could read who the band actually was.
Idiots.
After close inspection I can see the headliner is Faetooth - my older brother is going….loves his obscure metal.
