Hoping a New Thread may fix the posting issues.
Maybe what's needed for change
They have scored 3 from an xG of 0.49 as of the 91st minute. That is not sustainable so I would not draw any conclusions based off their match currently.
Ah no.... XG please stop
Smashed City last week and now doing Arsenal
Politely stop with the nonsense of xg
Its called winning any way you can
Villa have built their entire season on debunking XG!
Arsenal are as bad to watch as us. Only for they can actually score from corners and OG turned up in a few games there wouldn't be any excitement in their games either.
Look at the bright side, still only 14 points behind Arsenal👍
Sure, anything else that irritates you that we all need to stop chatting about? I do not want to inconvenience you in any way. You are the boss.
5 of next 7 are at home in all comps
Next 3 at home
Make Anfield Great Again
Exceptions will always be found, we do not run our lives on exceptions or outliers.
Speak for yourself, that's exactly how I roll! 😎

Taught we were all adults in here
I didn't insult you.
Had those XG argument before.
I find it's normally lads who spend too much time being on the playstation rather than actually knowing anything about football throwing stats out.
And before you think I'm levelling that at you I'm not.
Peace
Considering current form, and assuming no incomings or outgoings in the squad/manager makeup, is 6 points in the next 5 league games being overly optimistic?
I still look at that and think 11pts.
I think I need to go and see a doctor
I was thinking 5 at a push 😂
If Slot is truly done, I think Liverpool should, if possible, go for Enrique in the summer. I know many Liverpool fans have a blind spot for Alonso, but he isn’t too dissimilar to Slot in how he sees the game.
Liverpool really need an offensively minded manager who can come in and get the best out of Isak, Ekitike, and Wirtz, if such a system is possible.
You are penciled in for the 15th of March at 1630.
Overall unfortunately a lot of fans are overly nostalgic and think that it's like a light switch, we can just get back to winning ways easily. United should be very strong evidence that without a solid plan and back up plan, and third plan in place then things can actually get worse, and keep getting worse indefinitely. Slot was our Plan A, we would now be moving to plan B.
Arsenal haven't won in over 20 years, united in over a dozen, and Chelsea will be over a decade before they win again, and their entitlement and nostalgia made their problems much worse. Combine that with the equalisation of finances we are currently entering with all the money coming in to the PL, and more teams entering Europe, our plan B better be a lot more robust than "anything would be better than this".
FSG I would hope, behind the scenes are figuring out these plans, and I'm confident they will act when they feel the need to.
Chelsea and United have each gained 4 points on us since sacking their managers.
Have to say I agree with this. Just as Slot had one great season, I wish Alonso had a bit more of a managerial CV behind him. Think it's a still a risky move and Enrique would be a safer bet.
The Premier League is a mad place at the moment. Look at the form table!
If the alarm bells weren't already ringing, they are now with United's turn of form.
They have no other distractions from league so could push on from here.
I've an awful feeling we are just going to drift for a few months and see how the summer pans out.
Is Enrique really a safer bet? Look at the squad of players that was available to him at Barca, he won't have that at Liverpool. At PSG, the French league is basically a one horse race, so can concentrate on Europe, they have also bought most of the best young players in the world, again, he will not have that at Liverpool. The EPL is way more competitive than what Enrique has managed in.
Yes, he has achieved more than Alonso, but, he has had jobs where he could pick from the best in the world. What Alonso did at Leverkusen is much more difficult, up against a totally dominant team, Leverkusen wouldn't normally even be amongst the challengers. He did fine at Madrid, but, they are almost impossible to manage, so wouldn't really worry about that, he also has experience with Wirtz and Frimpong, if the club are building the team around Wirtz, then Alonso looks the perfect choice. I think Enrique would be a better fit for City if Pep goes.
The new money is changing the game, people don't realise that there is a confidence in most of the teams nowadays that has replaced the fear. Look at some of the other team threads, they believe they can beat anyone, and half the league is playing in Europe, and the other half is expecting to get there. Every game is like a cup final. I mean Man city are massively underperforming too for the last 2 seasons too. It's great to say well pep has earned his keep, but it doesn't matter a whit in terms of the why?
£300m+ spend on Wirtz, Isak & Ekitike to go along with Gakpo and Salah and Liverpool have a +3 goal difference is shocking.
Unfortunately, Luis Enrique is not a realistic manager option for Liverpool IMO.
He's under contract for another year at PSG, certainly won't leave mid season, and has no reason to leave PSG at all yet.
I'd take him in a heartbeat if I could. He's brilliant.
Ah come on. If it's so easy at PSG how come all those other managers tried and failed before him to win the CL. Enrique is a much more established manager and much more is known about his level. Sure he managed great Barca and PSG teams but as we saw from the last window we're not afraid to spend cash either so he could have a highly talented squad at his disposal.
Not to disparage Xabi, but it's still unknown if that title winning season was an outlier or if it was his level. His following season wasn't great IRC.
Aside from VVD 8 years ago Liverpool have pretty much not ever made any investment of a known world-class central defender, at least in the premier league era. Each and every one for probably the last 20 years has had major flaws. VVD was so good (with Ali support of course) that he could carry the defence on his shoulders. Now that he is getting older those chickens are home to roost, and we need a new VVD equivalent imo. He would have another 2-3 years with someone else at the helm imo. One deadline day transfer saga did not create this problem, and was probably not the golden ticket we all seem to think it would have been.
Has he not said he's leaving in the summer?
I have no real opinion on him, but there will be some scrambling in the summer, if him, Xabi, Tuchel?, Ancelotti, Amorin 😉, all in the market potentially.
Is he gone?
no looks like he is staying😉
