Hoping a New Thread may fix the posting issues.
Just cant see it happening mid-season - though if the persistent losses had continued and/or CL league phase failure, it probably would have.
Been wrong before though. Add in another Mo whinge or something like that and you never know.
Lack of progress, overall squad confidence and lack of activity in personnel suggests to me a decision could well have been made in any case already
Bournemouth 1 win in 14 before this. 😂
We are mana from heaven for teams in a rut or desperate for points.
I'm in the same boat as you.
That said, I don't expect the club to do anything in the short term. But they will definitely be sounding out Alonso again.
5 league wins since September i think
How you fixed to take training Monday morning?
Thought Endo was poor (and I'm not sure he's good enough for us tbf) but he's also only played 13 minutes of PL football since we last faced Bournemouth on opening day.
Thrown in at CB to an already extremely dysfunctional team with virtually no playing time, it's a really tough situation for any footballer and another indicator that the squad needs to be used more if they're expected to be sharp when called upon.
Looks like some players and maybe Slot were looking for something in that Bournemouth winner. If anything, there were a few Liverpool players on the edge of fouling, certainly not being fouled.
Not a Liverpool fan myself, but it doesn't look like the rot can be stopped.
We lost the metal and just became heavy football
VVD claimed he was blocked but Sky showed it and while he was tripped he was tripped by Curtis Jones.
Again. Did opposition make a load of great saves? Did we miss many chances? Did we get any major decisions against us? I think the fact that even in first half when we were doing ok or in other games when it wasn't actually going against us(while we were in control) , it still was a tough watch. There was no fun , no excitement. Ultimately what was the point? It anti-klopp and that's the hardest part to take.
I guess top 4 or not, I don't want this football anymore.
Almost funny but definitely true☹️
It's so frustrating that most of our problems are self inflicted. It was fairly obvious that the balance of the squad was all wrong at the beginning of the season, we spent a huge amount of money, but, neglected CB and midfield. Everyone knew Bradley and Gomez were injury prone, plus Frimpong is not really a full back, so that was always going to be a problem area, we basically have 4 midfielders for 3 positions (Gravenberch, Mac, Jones & Szob) as Slot doesn't want to use Endo unless he has no other option like today.
On top of all that Slot refuses to play certain players, so an already small, unbalanced squad is made even smaller. All the chickens are coming home to roost now; injury prone players injured (Bradley and Gomez) leaving us with basically no defenders left and we are resorting to playing midfielders in defence, Szob and Endo, one of whom Slot has absolutely no faith in.
All part of the master plan of course, waiting for the right players to become available while the season spirals from one disaster to another, but, apparently it's all fine as we are " probably going to win the league next season " according to some posters here!
Was it robbery?
Bournemouth (2.30) 3-2 (0.79) Liverpool
And, what did Mo do (apart from throwing the toys out) to deserve 90 minutes??
Carrier bag for Slot
We have the most pedestrian passing in the league.
You could half get on board if the football was even exciting, and there was a hint things will improve.
However, it's dour losing football, and there's no improvement in sight. I can't see how the players could be on board with this rubbish.
Thank **** we won the league last year.
we should be playing a lot better no doubt and we should be able to beat these teams.
There is 18 months left on Slot’s, Hughes and Edward’s contracts. There are a load of players contracts that need looked at and we need to sell and sign 5 or 6 players.
Whoever we have managing will have a big task on their hands
As soon as I typed that, Bournemouth took control of the game!
It wasn't a robbery.
Agreed. Ultimately it is entertainment (yes it determines our mood) and this is not entertaining.
His obsession with passiveness out of possession is mind boggling. The team seem happy for teams to drift through our midfield, or for us to just stand off and just cover gaps, with little to no pressure on the ball.
It's a choice.
Yes, he has profile issues with some players, but the passiveness is a blatant choice. It's moronic to still be trying to defend like that after 18 months in this league.
Why single Salah out?
Not one player today was any bit close to a good performance. Alisson was poor, VVD sh1te, bar 2 set pieces Szoboszlai was terrible. Gravenberch lazy and slow. I can go on.
Regardless of what it means for where we finish, I cant watch much more of this type of football
We've not been good all season. Some highlights here and there but just not good.
Saw this tweet a few minutes ago and it just points to a lack of concentration at the end of games.
3 wins in 10
6 draws , this translates into 4 losses pts wise
and another loss today
No one would be praising those 6 draws had they been 4 losses, but pts wise it's the same
But there was praise the last few weeks, for not losing, but we did lose,, A LOT OF FCKIN PTS
Slot is right about one thing, dropping Salah. Absolutely finished at this level.
He's also asking Salah to be part of a system of play that is the antithesis to how he plays football.
Unless you've never seen Mo play, you'd be stupid to be asking him to prod, probe and play without intensity or directness with the ball. His entire game for a decade has been to get into space, attack gaps, try things, take shots.
Salah singled himself out with his outburst after the Leeds game.
Time has caught up with him very quickly.
His touch, ball control has completely deserted him, that's a stretch blaming slot for that. We have seen this over and over with players of his age, it's over at the top level all of a sudden.
It's now 5 wins from 18, the last time we did that?
November to March in 01/02. Half the squad weren't even born yet. Edit: Kenny also matched it in 11/12 before departing actually, so twice in 24 years and the coach was let go the last time.
