Hoping a New Thread may fix the posting issues.
I love a daisy cutter like that
Feels retro
My favourite kind of free kick, thought they were dead for good with lads lying down behind the wall nowadays
Lovely stuff deserved lead
Good lad Dom
Haven't seen a reading that well since the proclamation.
Really good half - that's exactly the formation I want to see every week, and the type of performance I want to see. Moves won't come off sometimes, but first and foremost you have to be trying to do the right things, and we've been doing that tonight.
Did he point to the bench after scoring? - might have been picked up in some analysis.
That's why you need a draft excluder.
Cheeky finish. Lovely stuff. The better team, but by no means brilliant.
I do think Joe Gomez's passing has been brilliant though, plenty of line breaking passes from CB.
The last few weeks we have looked like we know what we're at. 2nd half against Arsenal, 1st against Burnley, 1st again tonight...
Its when there's a slight shift in momentum is where I worry about us. Hostile crowd so I fully expect Marseille to come at us this 2nd half. I'm intrigued to see our response.
I'd like someone to try not building a wall in the first place, if no wall is there how many players are beating a keeper from 20-30 yards out? and the keeper with an unobstructed view?
Played well that half, need a bit more luck in the final third.
Yeah, still very mentally fragile alright, just don't seem to have the confidence to keep their cool and stay doing the right things when something goes against them. It'll probably take a run of games of hanging in there to start feeling that belief again. Hopefully no drama second half now (probably a lot to ask for this team though!)
That Richie package on RTE feels a bit disingenuous… yeah, they were ponderous in some spells when Marseille were sitting back, but for the majority of attacks they were much more intent on trying to cut through. Slowing things down at times to try to probe for the gap is ok like, as long as you have that change of pace to try to force things at other times.
The most important thing now is put the foot on their neck. Don't come out in the second half looking to slow the game down.
Clever freekick but overall Liverpool are very poor, no pace, no bite particularly upfront.
It's still off but there has been a change in tempo in the last 2 games
The big issue is what do we have in terms of fresh legs?
Yep I think there's been some studies into that. Not giving them the target can hinder the taker it's just psychological that teams don't want to do it
Reminds me of how they've proved that the most effective way of taking a free throw in basketball is underarm. I think Chamberlain took some like that as did others in his era and research has shown it's a higher conversion rate. But players won't try it because it looks wimpy
that should be 2. Dunno why Wirtz was so casual.
Ooz, Wirtz had to take that first time - great pass from Ekitike, Wirtz just had to hit it with the gap open.
I think you'd see the attacking players make their own little wall of 2 or 3 to block the keepers vision anyway, while leaving the space for their player to whip it in.
He must of thought he had more time. Bizarrely casual there. Himself and Ekitike are growing a good understanding of each other the last few games.
Awkward bounce I think which took his touch to far
Greenwood just hacked Salah down there ffs
so close hugo
Mac a lucky boy there
Crazy for him to try control that ball
we really should be taking our chances.
these are the costly decisions that are getting us week in week out. You just shouldn't be trying that.
Another very solid Kerkez performance.
