Well none build yet but planning gone in. Question is swill Sweetman object over the trimming or removal of hedges etc. Got unsolicited literature delivered to me about it but I am not interested.no big tillage and not a lot of dairy farms. Interest how they will navigate tge hedgerows issue
Glass panels & wiring is an issue.
Are you not left with aluminium frames then...they are worth a good few bob
There is a good bit of it fenced with 6 or 8 foot high wire near the quarry so I suspect it's going ahead.
Which Quarry
I'd say that poster is talking about place back near Foynes maybe, good share of panels gone in there.
It’s happening all the time in the US, huge solar farm are abandoned. Where they have a few more months of sunshine compared to here. Panels only produce a fraction of the power in winter months here compared to summer time.
All going for solar panels now im told as men go he wasn't a bad individual a very good and hard working farmer
Ya I agree with you 💯 flogging a dead horse is no good. Sorry for your mishap finance wise.
Rubbish they won't go through the courts if someone wants money back they will get debt collectors simple as.
I was reading an article written by Colm Mccarthy the economist. He is of the opinion now that continuing trying to tackle Climate Change is the wrong direction for Europe. We all share the one atmosphere the US, China, India Russia etc. Basically as none of these countries are acting on CC, we are wasting our time and need to start looking at mitigating the effects it will have on us. We need to start redurecting funds away from subsidising tge atmosphere over these countries
These 1000 cow farms cud never make money unless u owned most of the land id say that lad came to realise this ud need about 1500 acres in derogation to run the show plus ur little army to keep it going even if u ownec 1000 acred ud be better renting it for 300 to 500 per acre this still wud be a better option than solar.
Is there any aluminium in it boss 😎 🤔 👀 😏 😜
Very hard to male money out of aluminum scrap, its dose not weight. While its worth more per kg than steel, its hard to amass a ton of aluminium which is worth depending on how clean it is about 600-1k euro. Aluminium has hardly increased in value in 20 years.
I think most of the solar companies have to put bonds in place to cover clean up costs. Not sure if they will cover it. You will need to take down and disassemble frames and panels. Then remove conc pads and buried cables. I can not see any of the land returning from solar. If things go wrong you could own a solar farm whether its worth owning is another matter.
I would tend to agree there especcially since what the EU are pushing such as wind and biomenthane are eitheir ineffective or making the situation worse while ignoring obvious solutions like nuclear etc. Some meaures like the Deforestation laws have more merit as climate "buffering" and protection of biodiverse environments are vital for sustaining all life including human societies and shielding us from the worst affects of any sharp climate changes (whether natural or human influenced) at a local and national level

Any kerry suppliers here that have the milkedin app not working
Especially Now the mercosur deal has been passed. Why should we a tiny island , be busting ourselves to save the planet when the South American countries dont care.
While I agree….if you look back at modern history it was Europe who have led the world over the last 2000 years.
Some one has to continue to try and lead? China or Russia never will. US might but ultimately the world ia build on oil and no matter what every bit that can be pumped will be pumped over the next 200 years.
Thats irish for you always want to be paddy gd guy look at the support our farm orgs get in memberships yet they couldnt organise last weeks protest there no shortage of farm org more every year yet two politicans organised. these two politicans have other work to do as well as looking out for farmers farm orgs have only farming matters ti deal with.
An ould coma, or a spell check, wouldn't go astray with you this morning 😀
Left school at 16 bought over 500 acres of land i think i made more of me time than lads spent 4 years in college
That theroy works if carbon taxes etc went solely to renewable energy projects etc but most is simply used in goverment budgets for everyday spending, its basically just a stealth tax now instead of actually increasing personal tax rates, over 300 billion collected annually now in the Eu 27 combined
I said it before, ireland worrying about global emissions is like having a non pissing corner in a swimming pool.
Wonder will there be any relaxation in some of the stupid measures in place.
On farming simulator?
How many acres did u buy lad sweet f a
500 acres and a new fendt.
Don't forget the fendt
I'm only having the craic, well done
Ive more than 500 i inherited a gd bit also like the rest of u fendt isnt new anumore
Eamon Ryan said if we set an example in Ireland, the Chinese would follow us.
People with cultured accents took this seriously and discussed it amongst themselves on RTE and in the Irish Times.
The early 2020s were strange times indeed.
Still strange times. Allegedly back benchers dont agree with alot of what government is preaching but won't say anything as they'll lose the whip.
Ryan is a clown - he was waffling a few weeks ago about how we can power half of Europe's Date centres with windmills. On a night like this they would all be knackered/shuttered!!…. Irish Greens have nothing positive to show for their time in government in terms of the environment on the ground in this country. I always though the "Blueshirts on Bikes" moniker summed them up perfectly!!!
