These people will support any belief as long as it sticks it to the man and goes against the grain.
They will never actually intellectually following through what they support. They cannot comprehend that this is against his process, not belief. If they support him expressing his beliefs in a very disruptive manner, will they be equally happy for somebody else to express a contrary belief in the same process? Or will these people only support certain beliefs being expressed as such? And is the belief more important that the professionalism? And if so, how do you arbitrate on the consistency of this?
In a democracy, if Enoch genuinely felt that he was aghast at the conduct, he should have used due process to escalate the matter to his line-manager. If this failed to resolve the matter, he should escalate to the board of management. Failing this, the dept of education. And if he failed to achieve a result, he should have resigned and ran for public office. Instead, he tried to just throw a match at the system to see what would happen.
Are you talking Court case, or prison love?
Enoch will be doing well to get to the High Court by 2 if he’s still there now.
That’s what it all boils down to really, grown adults still following their mother. Pathetic really
He's a misguided fool.
This has nothing at all to do with religious beliefs, nor principles.
But how? He’s spent time in prison, he’ll probably be spending even more soon. He lost his job. No one in their right mind would want to hire him now….
Any company that runs a background check will see his name
He could probably make a decent living moving to America as a fundamentalist Christian radio host. Parts of that country love that stuff. Despite his pathetic behaviour, I would guess he is more academically intelligent than most of those hosts.
A pathetic waste of space is all he is now. Brave he certainly is not.
There wasn't much heed paid to the Burkes during their last publicised trip to the States. Some of the evangelical groups have even condemned his actions.
As I said here yesterday intelligence is useless unless combined with independent logical thinking. How would he survive over there without Mammy's instructions?
You've hit the nail on the head there. He could have taken up his disagreement and gone through multiple channels to resolve it. Who knows what might have actually occurred if that had happened, some panel or judge might have found somewhat in his favour in some respect.
But instead he's gone about dealing with this in the most pig headed and self defeating manner. There's a couple of things going on I think (a) There's just a fundamental inability there, on Enoch's part, to even acknowledge any type of mistake or anything less than totally in the right behaviour is possible, (b) the validity of other opinions or views and (c) that the spectacle of martyrdom is an end in itself.
Has to be in court for 2 and was live at 1:10 on rte outside the school
he wants to make a spectacle and wants to make himself seem like a victim. He wants it to seem like he is being arrested because he is standing outside the school, demonstrating on behalf of his beliefs
His father was convicted of assaulting a garda, though.
not only did he spew crap, he was employed to spew crap.
But the idea that any random nutter such as Burke has an entitlement to get on air and promote whatever ridiculous ideology they want doesn't hold water
Moreover, to further Hotblack’s point, D’arcy was a public figure. The definition of a public figure is somebody who makes their income from being in the public eye. A teacher is not a public figure. You do not want to encourage other teachers or various other professions by rewarding their gross insubordination and professional misconduct with publicity.
I reckon the Burkes are or were funded by Iona.
They've more than enough evangelists of their own already. They don't need to import them.
Or would they take the money off those heathen Catholics?
Besides, the Iona are funded from Russia, or at least used to be. Whatever about Catholics, they wouldn't suffer the heathen Russian Orthodoxy money.
Maybe Martina has an Onlyfans account?
And now the judge has ordered his arrest again.
people have principles until it affects their pockets. There should be rigorous enforcement of any financial penalties and the retrieval of the money of the Irish taxpayer, wasted on this spectacle. You cannot reason with these people with anything else
They have taken everything in Enoch's name already; and nothing can be done against the parents, except possible seizing the car if he was out of prison and continuing to be in contempt
That's obviously what his intention was, he just needed to get a foot beyond the gate for the school to apply to have him re-arrested

I found the comment about him not willing to release his bank records to be interesting…. If he has proven that none of his tactics are in good faith, it would be of public interest to know who is funding his campaign.
That said, obscurity will be the best punishment for him
It's akin to the movie Groundhog Day, if it was made by The Daily Wire with a script where Bill Murray never learned any lesson whatsoever.
His campaign is pretty cheap as he has to pay for nothing and he's still getting paid his salary.
His salary has been diverted, first to state fines and latterly to Wilsons costs awards (which will go back to their insurer) for quite some time now.
Sorry you're correct. Up until relatively recently he hasn't had to pay for anything. His costs are still low as when he's in prison he doesn't have to spend any money.
I wish that the state could recoup all the legal fees, security fees for Wilson, arresting, etc. His salary won’t nearly cover them
It really has gone full circus mode now, and it seems clear it has eff all to do with his principles, and all now to do with him loving the limelight.
Back to Fugitive for the Thread title perhaps? https://www.irishexaminer.com/news/courtandcrime/arid-41777042.html
"Welcome back Mr Burke, we've prepared your usual suite".
