Cheapest Model 3 in the country at the moment is a 2019 base car for €17,999.
A standard base range car. From €35k new, that’s not bad resale even allowing for that to sell for €15knn
Well, all I'd have to say is a 1000 euro car being given a value of 4500, is very fair. And would take the sting out of depreciation on a new car.
Lot of dealers would attach a token 500 euro to a banger. Or just not bother, and advise you to sell it yourself.
Yes I know really one of the main reason I'm looking this way.
Nissan are offering up to €4K trade in booster. Think I saw Toyota are doing €2K as well. There's probably more as well.
The 3 is the better car to drive and is very practical. I had one for three years and sold mine last year. It was the base RWD.
The Y is a much more practical family car and is much bigger. More expensive of course. I went with the AWD version to spoil myself.
You won't go wrong with either assuming they fit your needs.
Just checked Toyota and Nissan sites. Yep, boosters available for trade ins. But finance rates are 3.9 to 7.5% !
Thought you couldn't get Tesla low rate if you took the trade in booster? Maybe I read that wrong though?
Only on the Ayria for the Nissan. VW also doing a €1500 trade in booster along with a free EV charger if you swap to flogas.
Correct. You have to pay with your own funds. So cash, savings, CU whatever.
Yep, you're right. Tesla dont combine booster and finance.
Other brands just claw back the booster with finance rates. Sure just have a look at " cost of credit" on their own calculator.
It will be the family car which is way I'm kinda leaning to the Y. Before the trade in deal popped up I was pretty set with ix3 in my head just waiting on the right one to come around.
Old shape iX3 or new shape?
I’ve had an old shape iX3 MSport Pro and a Model Y AWD.
Old shape I had an idea to spend 20-25k ish
Wondering if anyone has had any issue with a Tesla loaner. Reading the loaner agreement it seems there’s no insurance cover and you’re liable for any damage up to €2,500. Does that mean you’re at Tesla’s mercy in relation to any repair costs if you have for example a minor prang or are they reasonable to deal with?
Transfer your own insurance over temporarily.
Pros. typical bmw quality and feel. droves well with decent amount of power. good spec in MSport pro I felt. may hold value better but that will probably change now with the new shape due.
Cons. not as spacious inside. not as powerful. UI was typical bmw which was ok, it when you were use to the tesla UI, it felt clunky. it still drove like an ICE, hard to explain. Not as light of a drive and not as brisk if that helps in anyway. Pew=reform ace was delivered more calmly which made it fell underpowered for a near 300bhp car. It gave me the same feeling as the ID4 GTX. not as efficient as the model y in my ownership.
You won’t go wrong with either car in fairness and it really comes down to what you like best. Try get extended test drives from both.
I didn’t do this on pick up so presumably can’t be done retrospectively
Yeah, you can transfer it now, but if you've already damaged the car……you can't buy the winning lottery ticket after the draw.
I’ll give insurance company a call tomorrow. Car is fine but I was flicking through details on app again when checking if any update on repair completion date and got a bit of jitters when I saw the €2,500 excess. For some reason I read it as €250 when I flicked through it previously!
Definitely ring them first thing and transfer to the courtesy car. You may be able to do a transfer online now.
You can indeed. Tesla have no dealings with your private insurance policy. You do it yourself.
+1
I just email them the make, model, reg and value. I put in the context of the transfer too. Temp courtesy car etc
Has tesla upped the price again for the standard?
What happens if nobody bids on your banger trade in? Do you still get the €3500 and get to keep your car to sell privately?
Nope.
There will always be a bid. Every car has a scrap value. They could bid 50 quid and scrap the car for 300 the day of collection
Can you register on trade-bid.ie or wherever it gets put up for a month and buy it back yourself? 🙂
Thanks. I’ve been very nieve about this. I picked up the car before Christmas and have been driving it since thinking I was covered by Tesla for any claim subject to a €250 excess. Could have been an expensive oversight!
I can’t do an online temporary transfer for some reason so will give them a call in the morning
just need a garage code and vat number.
Congratulations
