Id genuinely believe he’s doing some good work in there. I suspect he was a very good and conscientious teacher unfortunately he’s chucked it all away.
By all accounts he was good at his job. And if he hadn't gone shouting at the principal he'd probably still be there.

Better in what way? Was the intent to create a fuss over his family's opposition to gender stuff or just him airing his bigoted views? I suspect the former given the how his sister (with help from his mother) decided to end her successful legal career.
I don’t think that concept exists in that family - I don’t think they actually have the capacity to reflect and learn from their mistakes. They’re driven by whatever tenets were put in place in their upbringing which was essentially a cult like existence - in their minds they are always “right”. They have no capacity for forgiveness, or admitting fault - that’s where we see the chinks in their armour - their “righteousness” is blinding their ability to think logically and rationally as a normal human would do.
I’m reminded of the expression “if they had brains they’d be dangerous”- they’re the opposite- they all have serious levels of academic intelligence - but, if they didn’t have this self righteous characteristic that impedes them in real life they’d all still be doing the jobs they loved making plenty of money.

A conscientious teacher would not prioritise their own whims ahead of the wellbeing of a pupil.

This is clearly being done so he can be put back in again, and have that used to show his appeal is to frustrate the process and not genuine.
He'll be at the school tomorrow and back in Mountjoy on Friday.

I figure this will play out like Ammi’s appeal case. It’ll just be thrown out due to their constant disrespect and frustration of the Court process regardless of any valid point that they might have. That’ll be the end of his appeals against the appeal board and he’ll be dismissed by them/Wilsons and his salary will finally end. But that won’t be the end of it, of course. They’ll find another way to litigate this. Wilson’s will be celebrating their 300th anniversary before this is over. Enoch will be back in the Joy before the week is out.
Not particularly. If Burke can actually prove his issues against the DAP, the most likely result would be a different panel deciding on the case and more than likely coming to the exact same outcome; Burke is a f*cking loon who was rightfully suspended and should be fired on the basis of all his subsequent actions following his suspension.
Then Burke will raise the same objections to the judge about this new panel, and round and round we go again until a judge finally says that they gave enough leeway to Burke and his objections as was reasonable, and there's no reason to drag it on any further.
What is happening now, is pretty much entirely expected.
He could just turn up outside the gate and not trespass, which would be interesting.
The court has finally recognised the “substantive and credible” issues so I’d think they’ll play the game a bit better now.
That it took shouting and screaming and ignoring court orders to finally have a judge accept that there are, it seems, major issues to be considered, should be the headline story.

If there hadn't been been shouting, screaming and ignoring court orders, substantive issues could and would have been dealt with three years ago.
Burke has caused the delays. Burke has caused himself to be in prison for hundreds of days. Burke has destroyed his career. Not the courts, not anyone else - just him. And maybe his Mammy.
Also, and most importantly - an issue being substantive and credible doesn't mean Burkes arguments are true.
This comment by Justice Cregan summarises the situation EB has created for himself…
Mr Justice Cregan said: "Mr Burke, your ability to shoot yourself in the foot is unparalleled, in my experience." after EB said the court had made an outstanding U-turn and accused it of hypocrisy by choosing to release him from prison.
Edit: As a matter of course, Justice Cregan has given him the opportunity to hold meetings with lawyers on the substantive" and "credible" issues EB has raised about the panel following his release from prison. He's hardly likely to be sitting down with lawyers outside the WHS gates discussing how to make a case against the panel.

If he was genuinely serious about the supposed issues this could have all been trashed out and aired in court over the last three+ years, but that's all been forgotten in this bizarro penchant to become some sort of martyr. I don't think questions of his actual sanity are illegitimate at this point.
I think someone should take an additional civil case against him on the grounds of being so boring.
I’ve worked with some nutters over the years but no one has ever turned up for work after they’ve been let go to ‘report for work’ as they didn’t accept their dismissal. Whatever personal problems there people had, they had the wherewithal to know that they couldn’t keep turning up and go back to their desk. And if they were in the situation the EB is in, still being paid, they also would have stayed at home and kept the money and said nothing in case it stopped.

I have seen stories of bonkers Americans doing it, much of the culture of "get out there and hand CVs in to shops and offices with a firm handshake and you'll get a job" 1950s nonsense; thinking that showing up shows you're resilient and they'll hire you back.
