So thought I’d throw this up, in a similar style to the electricity and gas switching deals available
one big switch have a deal for eir Broadband €35 a month and €100 credit added to your account for new residential account holders, if you’ve had eir before use spouses name which I’ve done in the past
Switched from digiweb to pure on Jan 5th. Signal went down from digiweb that day and just plugged in the Huawei router from pure and it immediately worked. Didn't think it'd be that easy. I use Google WiFi nest so didn't need to change any network (ssid and password) changes on all devices connected to the Wi-Fi.
My current contract expires with Eir on Feb 4th and I am moving to Pure. I am scheduled to be switched over to Pure on the 4th or do I need to move it to the 5th when technically out of contract?
Also do Eir ask for the router back as my understanding is that Pure use the Eir network anyway so the Pure service should be able to continue on the Eir router. Huawei router Pure sent looks a bit like my old very poor Vodfone router compared to the current Eir FS500 which has worked effortless for me up to now.
Haven't done anything yet.
No, request your new broadband provider to switch you using IAS service. Once you are out of contract, they will cancel existing service and switch on date you request

I'm in the same boat - how did you get on ?
I've 2 weeks until my contract is up - do I still have to give a month's notice or can I just plan to have the new provider start on my Eir contract end date ?
Sorry not very up on the terminology, had to Google FMS
It's my phone's hotspot, phone only has 4G. I'm with Eir, still in contract. Never had issues with 3 in terms of the woeful speeds. My issue with them was getting signal in the first place
Usage so far this month is around 260gb so I know thats probably high
Out of curiosity can you elaborate on the throttling? Is your FMS in contract still? 4G or 5G?
Ok great thanks!
I'm impatient as I've been dealing with Eir throttling my mobile internet for the past 6months and its gotten me to the point of insanity almost 😬
I think it was 3 or 4 days from memory.
how long do they take to send out a router in people's experience? I signed up yesterday with them thanks to this thread
The 10% off "online" (cant sign up online its a call back) is only for the first 6 months but still good for 31.50 a month and 35 thereafter
Ring 1901 and ask to be put through to cancellations. Tell them you're going to Sky which is ~€100 for everything and don't accept any offer from them unless it's new customer pricing. If they say €x is the best they can do just proceed with the cancellation. You should then get a call in a day or two from retentions who can offer you 500Mb broadband for €35, TV for €10 and each Sim for €10 too vs the normal renewal price of €55 for broadband, €15 for TV and €13 per Sim. Just make sure your marketing preferences are set to allow.
Plus their techical team actually know what they are doing, I was pleasantly surprised when my modem went astray and they gave me the details to use my own modem in the interim.
I'm with Eir for BB, Eir TV and 4 x mobiles. Most of the "offers" stuff is ending on the contract in the next month or two. Where is best place to go?
Ring up your new supplier & ask them to avail of IASS to switch. They will cancel your existing broadband supplier contract & start new service on date you specify.
My contract with Eir is up on Feb 28. I intend to switch to Sky or Pure. How would I time the switchover so I would'nt be without internet?
Yeah - misread that there. Your spot on.
I just checked a siro address on the VF site. Still has the annual price increase in April.
That message about not seeing a significant price increase once your contract ends has been the case with Vodafone for a while. It just means there's no huge jump once you are out of contract like with other providers, it stays at the same in contract price.
But as you said there's still the annual price increase across all of their plans for now and their introductory prices revert after 6 months.
Maybe they are getting in ahead of the proposed new in-contract price increase laws. Good to see.
As for VFs plans on OpenEir Im not sure, but NBI plans below still show price increases….as well as their half price for 6 months nonsense. Hopefully these will follow suit.
only for SIRO ?
I was with them last year until June on the 1gb package and got sent the same. Better than what Sky send you, but still not fantastic.
For the 500mb package I got sent this https://www.euroroute.ie/huawei-products/
Not sure if it differs for the 1gb package.
It’s fine but I have my own so I didn’t use it for long.
What modem do the provide?
Not true, I did my first year with them for €30 pm it was a obs deal going at the time, when I rang enquiring about my contract end date they offered me a renewal price of €35 pm which I took, it's ending in April.
Depends - on €35 plan, thats 4.2 months.
If you have more than that remaining then you would be better off. Less than that you will get stung.
Other Telcos charge remaining time left.
They charge €150 if you break your contract. Not good.
they don’t do anything to retain customers, I’m with them paying €40 and the service is great but come April I know from reading here i will have to move
They didn’t do anything to keep me as a customer last year so I switched to sky. Will probably switch back again at the end of the sky contract.
I'm currently paying them €55 a month. I hope that offer is open to me in a couple of months.
Good offer. I'd take that.
